The Best Honeymoon Destinations in the United States
Whether you’re looking for an easy (but amazing) honeymoon destination in the USA and are looking for a great, or you just don’t want to hop on a long flight, and would rather honeymoon close to home, these dreamy US honeymoon destinations are for you! These are some of the best luxury destinations in the USA, and some of my personal favorites.

Maui, Hawaii
Maui is often thought of as the most luxurious, and resort-ey, of all of the Hawaiian islands and makes for a great Hawaii honeymoon. The gorgeous coastline, dazzling beaches, waterfalls, volcanoes & rain forests make it one of the most naturally beautiful islands in the world. And a honeymoon here is a choose-your-own-adventure of exciting adventures mixed with relaxing resort days. With five-star honeymoon resorts, world-class service, and the fresh, island food, you’ll want to come back for your Mauimoon-aversary every year.
Where to stay in Maui for a honeymoon
The Four Seasons Maui is one of Hawaii’s most beautiful – and exclusive – resorts and is hands down my choice of where to stay for luxury in Maui. I love this hotel so much that it’s where i’m planning my wedding for later this year!
Napa Valley
The great news of June is that Napa wineries have started opening up again!!! In fact, my parents were just in Napa and had a great time. Napa is a perfect place to consider for a US honeymoon – even soon! By now, you guys know that Napa (and Sonoma) may just be my favorite places not just in the US – but in the world. And, in my opinion, California wine country is the perfect USA honeymoon destination. There is nothing more relaxing or romantic than cuddling up in Napa Valley with vineyards surrounding you in a luxury resort with nothing to do but soak in the hot tub, head to the spa, or go out wine tasting.
Where to stay in Napa for a honeymoon:
Auberge Du Soleil or Calistoga Ranch would be my top two picks for a Napa honeymoon, hands down.

Florida Keys
Isla Bella Beach Resort
Highly recommend this adorable new resort just opened in 2019 and is a hidden gem in the Florida keys for a minimoon or USA honeymoon. The hotel sprawls across 24 acres on Knights Key in Marathon, Florida, and has five oceanfront pools, a 4,000-square-foot spa and a beautiful beach. Travelers can also enjoy beach yoga, kayaks, live music, a fitness center, two eateries and an on-site cafe! The architecture is gorgeous and Greek-islands-inspired, with beautiful blue and white interiors and a sophisticated vibe.

Little Palm Island, Florida Keys
The exclusive, recently re-opened understated luxe Little Palm Island is located about one hour by air from Miami and Key West. Far from crowds and ultra-secluded, it’s an island only accessible by boat, and it feels like you’re in the Maldives! When you arrive to the tropical island, you’re handed a welcome cocktail and a motor yacht transfers you from the check-in building on Torch Key to Little Palm Island. Crushed seashell-laden paths lead to individual oceanfront villas with private sundecks, outdoor showers, secluded hot tubs, and panoramic views of the ocean. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in The Dining Room, a fine-dining eatery (and the only restaurant) on the property.
Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston is the perfect romantic getaway whether it’s a honeymoon, minimoon, a birthday, bachelorette party, or any celebration. With one of the best food and cocktails scene in the US, gorgeous architecture, and of course, the quintessential Southern hospitality and Charleston culture, there’s nowhere quite like this beautiful Southern gem for a romantic vacay.
Where to stay in Charleston:
The Hotel Bennett is my go to in Charleston (I mean how chic is this rooftop pool!). I also love Kiawah Island if you’re looking for a little more remote getaway outside of town.
Half Moon Bay, California
With it jagged cliffs and rolling green hills along picturesque highway 1, Half Moon Bay feels more Irish or UK countryside than it does California. But even though HMB feels a million miles away, it’s actually only about 40 miles North of Santa Cruz and just 28 miles South of San Francisco.. This beautiful town may boast big-time draws like coastal hikes, stunning golf courses, long stretches of majestic NorCal beaches, and a famed 5-star Ritz Carlton, but, make no mistake, this is still very much a small town. With a population of only 11,000, and an 1800’s-built Main Street of only a couple blocks, Half Moon Bay feels undeniably quaint. If you’re getting married in California, or specifically around San Francisco, or you’re just looking for a great romantic resort on California’s Highway One, Half Moon Bay is such a perfect honeymoon destination in the USA.
Where to stay in Half Moon Bay for a honeymoon:
The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay – a stunning property nestled between 2 coastal golf courses.
Big Sur
Big Sur is one of the most beautiful areas of the world, let alone the US, and it makes for the perfect honeymoon destination for a couple looking for a mix of outdoorsy activity and one-of-a-kind relaxation. Surrounded by breathtaking nature and the swerving cliffsides of the Pacific Coast Highway, Big Sur is a dream. You’ll instantly feel relaxed, and can choose to make your honeymoon as active as you want it to be. If you’re staying at the Ventana, you can wake up in a glampsite among the redwoods, and spend your days in the resort’s breathtaking infinity pool, eating at their incredible restaurant, or getting out and exploring all of the to-die-for hikes and secluded beaches that Big Sur has to offer.
Where to Stay in Big Sur:
Post Ranch Inn for the ultimate in luxury, or Ventana Resort, also amazing.
California’s Highway One
This honeymoon destination idea in the USA goes along with Big Sur, but California’s Pacific Coast highway would also be the PERFECT honeymoon spot. You can start in LA, grab lunch in Malibu, stay overnight in wine country in Paso Robles, explore Santa Barbara, make your way through Big Sur and end in San Francisco or Napa Valley – talk about an amazing honeymoon!!!

Aspen, Colorado
If you’re having a winter wedding, or you’re a couple who loves to be on the mountain (or just après, no judement, I’m right there with you), there’s no place like the Rockies for a luxurious winter getaway. Spend your honeymoon days on the slopes, and your nights cozying by the fire with a hot toddy. Is there anything more romantic?

Where to stay for a honeymoon in Tahoe: Edgewood Tahoe
The Lodge at Edgewood Tahoe was ranked Travel & Leisure’s number one rated hotel in the continental US this year, and it is not hard to see why. Just a fact check: Currently, travel to Hawaii is banned. Inter-island travel does not even open until 6/16. The people that actually live in the state can’t even go island to island right now.

Thank you for the info! Most people coming to my page are planning honeymoons for the future, not necessarily next week! The situation changes so often that I always recommend people to look up the current status of travel to wherever they’re hoping to go. But hopefully the restrictions will be lifted soon and everyone can enjoy your beautiful island!
