The Best Resorts for a Honeymoon in the Caribbean
When it comes to choosing a honeymoon destination, there are a few important things to consider. 1) How much time can you take off for your honeymoon? 2) How much of that time do you want to spend in transit? While a jaunt to Southeast Asia or Bali for a honeymoon might sound amazing, the reality is most people don’t have two full weeks to take off work, especially if they’re taking off time for the actual wedding, and two 24-hour travel days plus time to adjust to 15-hour-time-zone-differences with only one week off work don’t exactly add up to a relaxing vacation.
If you’re looking for a honeymoon destination that’s close by the US, easily accessible, gorgeous and warm year round, the Caribbean is IT!!! With flight deals from almost every major city in the US, these luxury Caribbean honeymoon destinations are all the blissful honeymoon goodness without the pain of having to fly across the world. From the ultra-luxe, to the budget-luxe, I’ve got you covered with this list of my favorite dreamy Caribbean honeymoon resorts.
The Best Ultra Luxury Resorts in the Caribbean
This mesmerizing secluded resort rising majestically over Saint Lucia is easily one of the best honeymoon destinations in the world. Jaw-droppingly beautiful rooms all have 15-foot ceilings, unbeatable panoramic views, and private infinity pools. Plus the resort boasts James Beard-winning chef Allen Susser for meals you’ll never forget. If you stay at Jade Mountain, you also have the ability to enjoy the exclusivity and privacy of Jade Mountain plus all of its sister resort Anse Chastanet’s restaurants, bars, boutiques, art gallery, spa, scuba, bike and watersports facilities as well as the two gorgeous white sand beaches available to guests at all times.
A 1,000-acre private island a 30-minute boat ride away from Providenciales, COMO Parrot Cay is Caribbean honeymoon seclusion at its best. Splurge on a swanky beach villa and you’ll spend your day in a private pool with your new husband or wife, exploring the world-class spa for a couples massage together, indulging in sunset cocktails and choosing from beautiful restaurants with Thai, Japanese, Caribbean, and Mediterranean specialties for dinner.
Cayo Espanto Private Island, Belize
If you’re looking for a five-star, unbeatable private island experience in the Caribbean, look no further than Cayo Espanto. Known as being one of the top places to go in the Caribbean for a luxury honeymoon, this private island is also a vacation favorite of Brad Pitt’s. Each of the only seven villas on the island comes with an infinity pool, a private dock, an outdoor shower, and a hammock. Talk about #honeymoongoals.
It’s hard to imagine a place more peaceful and serene for a honeymoon than the hyper-luxurious Amanyara in Turks & Caicos. It feels more Bali than Caribbean, which is no surprise coming from the prestigious Eastern Aman Resorts brand.
If you’re looking for the dreamiest honeymoon overwater bungalow without the Maldives or Bora Bora price tag, this is it. This laid-back all-inclusive Sandals resort in a less crowded area of Jamaica boasts a two-mile stretch of beach, and all of the activities and entertainment guests familiar with the Sandals brand would expect. This resort has a romantic, quiet vibe for a Sandals with just the right amount of poolside fun. But even if you stay on the ‘mainland’ of the resort, this is a dreamy honeymoon option. All accommodations feature patios or balconies that overlook a white sand beach, and all-inclusive 5-star dining!
Another option for an overwater bungalow in the Caribbean? Yep. You can get the Maldives experience without the price tag by heading to Sandals Royal Caribbean for your honeymoon, as well, where there are 5 dreamy overwater bungalows with floating decks and personal hammocks, hot tubs, infinity pools, and private water taxis that whisk you to and from the main resort on your own time. If a room at this resort happens to be available your dates, book it! These rooms are often sold out.
Mexico for a honeymoon sounds like a dream to me. White sand beaches, warm yucatan peninsula water, cave diving in cenotes, and days full of margaritas, tacos and chips and guac? WHERE DO I SIGN UP! Viceroy Playa Del Carmen balances the luxury of the Viceroy name with an authentic laid-back Mexico flare that make it the perfect honeymoon destination in Mexico. There are 41 stunning villas on the property, every single one of them with a plunge pool, private patio and a woven hammock to relax in. The décor is inspired by the Mayan Yucatan culture and includes palapa roofs on each suite. Each villa also comes with your own butler, so you’ll never run out of guac.

Anguilla is what honeymoon dreams are made of. This British West Indies island has beautiful, untouched beaches that make it a vacation hub for the rich and famous. With a romantic quaintness to the island and modern-chic resorts like the Zemi Beach House, you’ll be in absolute honeymoon heaven.
Grand Isle Resort & Spa, Exumas
The 78 secluded private villas of Grand Isle in the Exumas, Bahamas, are surrounded by swaying palms, clear turquoise water, sunshine, and the adjacent 18-hole championship Emerald Reef Golf Club. Full kitchens in these residences make it a great choice for staying on a budget when it comes to food and drink while crossing off a luxe bucket list destination like the Exumas.
I know I’ve mentioned Anguilla a bunch on this list, but seriously it is perfect for a luxury Caribbean honeymoon. This oceanfront oasis has a Michelin-starred chef in-house, two dreamy pools, an amazing spa, white sand beaches, and tons of palm trees. And it’s Auberge – so you know the service is all-time.

Aruba makes for an amazing honeymoon destination. It’s just big enough you can rent a jeep and explore, but small enough you can relax and your hotel and call it a day. If you’re looking for the ultimate in luxury in Aruba , you’re definitely going to want to stay at the Ritz-Carlton. I love all Ritz-Carltons, as they always seem to go above and beyond when it comes to service, but the Ritz Aruba was incredible. Not to mention one of the most beautiful resort pools on the island, and servers who serve you your drink on beach segways (yes, seriously, so funny). I think this is the perfect hotel for couples on their honeymoon in Aruba.

Excellence Group’s newest contemporary, chic adults-only all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, El Carmen boasts 22 pools, super-spacious suites, and gorgeous resort facilities everywhere you look. It never feels crowded, with tons of spacious, open areas (my favorite area to hang out in was the skybar, this gorgeous area overlooking the beach and pool where no one ever was!) And the highlight of the resort is absolutely the rooms, which are your own private honeymoon oasis. Highly recommend any of the room categories with a private pool!
This gorgeous resort is located on its own private 35-acre island surrounded by powder-soft beaches, and featuring 29 airy, hillside cottages and a pool, spa, tennis court, as well as a superb outdoor restaurant. The honeymoon suite at the top-of-the-hill – the Duvernette Suite, has its own infinity pool and a furnished sundeck, making for a splurge-worthy suite if you want the the best room in the house.
PS – this awesome hotel is where Johnny Depp stayed when he filmed Pirates of the Caribbean.
