The Best Luxury Resorts in the United States

If there’s one benefit to the pandemic, it’s that it’s really awakened us all to the beauty that’s in our own backyard, right?! The USA has some of the dreamiest, most luxurious destinations in the world, yet all-too-often we Americans pass them over for jaunts to Santorini, Capri or Bali.

This year, however, is the year to explore our beautiful homeland! Whether you’re looking for a USA honeymoon destination, a girls weekend, a COVID-safe travel destination, or just looking for a romantic getaway somewhere in the United States, this list of the top swoon-worthy luxury USA resorts is for you.

1. Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur

Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur is an ultra-exclusive, adults-only California resort perched on the cliffs of the famed Highway One. The 39 contemporary guest suites include Cliff House, with a glass-walled bedroom and deck suspended over the cliffs, heated floors, outdoor stainless steel infinity hot tubs and private entrances. All with gorgeous ocean views. It’s one of the most extraordinary hotels not just in the USA, but the world.

2. The Four Seasons Maui

The ultimate in luxury, the Four Seasons Maui is one of Hawaii’s most beautiful – and exclusive – resorts.

Though it is undeniably luxe at every corner (and is tranquil and exclusive) it’s not as quiet and still as many Four Seasons tend to be, but rather has an upbeat vacation vibe that attracts a young couples, groups of friends, and families with small children. This resort caters to those wanting impeccable service, understated elegance, and delicious dining on the most beautiful stretch of Maui, and as such has long been a favorite secluded Hawaiian getaway for celebrities, actors, singers and athletes.

3. Auberge Du Soleil, Napa Valley

With the most beautiful views in Napa, the famed Auberge Du Soleil makes for the ideal Napa honeymoon or quiet wine country getaway. Wake up to vineyard views and head to their breathtaking veranda for breakfast. Spend your day by the pool, or head out to go wine tasting. A vacay at Auberge Du Soleil is just what the doctor ordered, any time of year.

4. Amangiri, Utah

How dreamy is this wellness resort, tucked into the  Celebs flock to this isolated desert paradise, and for good reason. It’s private, picturesque, and all kinds of insta-worthy. Emrata, Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, and many more celebs have been spotted there recently. The glam 5-star resort is surrounded by one hundred acres of sand-hued canyons, making it the perfect place for a weekend of hiking, spa treatments and relaxation in southern Utah.

5. The Four Seasons Lanai

Lanai is referred to as “Billionaire Island” and for good reason. This secluded ultra-quiet luxury oasis on laid-back Lanai with 5-star restaurants like Nobu and Malibu Farm, and an out-of-this-world breakfast buffet is one of the most exclusive resorts in Hawaii, and is hands down a favorite for Hawaii honeymoons

6. Little Palm Island, Florida Keys

The exclusive, recently re-opened all-inclusive Little Palm Island is located about one hour by air from Miami and Key West. Far from crowds and ultra-secluded, it’s an island only accessible by boat. When you arrive to the tropical island, you’re handed a welcome cocktail and a motor yacht transfers you from the check-in building on Torch Key to Little Palm Island. Crushed seashell-laden paths lead to individual oceanfront villas with private sundecks, outdoor showers, secluded hot tubs, and panoramic views of the ocean. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in The Dining Room, a fine-dining eatery (and the only restaurant) on the property.

7. Rosewood Miramar, Montecito, California

The Rosewood Miramar Beach is what California vacation dreams are made of. Modern, colonial, and with one of the most impressive locations in California, this resort is perfect for anyone wanting a chic beach bungalow getaway on the California Coast. Montecito is also right next to Santa Barbara, so you can spend your days exploring Santa Barbara wineries, or just hanging on the beach.

8. Hotel Jerome, Aspen, Colorado

Hotel Jerome, an Auberge Resort, is one of the most luxurious and charming hotels in the USA. With a rich history dating back to the 1800’s, and a location that can’t be beat in Aspen, this is an easy choice for a luxury winter getaway in the USA.

9.Calistoga Ranch, Calistoga, California

Calistoga Ranch is one of California’s most famed hotel properties and the hotel topping most of our USA bucket lists. The rooms are huge and the vibe is very secluded. It’s surrounded by stunning nature and you feel like you’re a million miles away from everything. But you’re still right within a stones throw of the best wineries in Napa Valley. And, the hotel even has a partnership with Mercedes where they lend you a complimentary convertible for the day to take around town (at no cost!). The Calistoga Ranch pool is dreamy during the summer months (but each room has a hot tub for the cooler months!)

10. Amangani, Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Aman resorts are known worldwide for their impeccable service and some of the most stunning and remote locations in the world. This gorgeous property is beautifully set in Jackson Hole among the Grand Tetons, making it ideal for skiing or hiking, rafting, and horseback riding during the summer.

11. The Beverly Hills Hotel

With its stylish guest rooms, iconic poolside cabanas, and ideal Sunset Boulevard location, the Beverly Hills Hotel is the place to see and be seen in Los Angeles. The hotel exudes vintage glamour and nods to the hotel’s colorful history with celebs and Hollywood. It’s one of my favorite hotels in the world, and a must to put on your USA bucket list.
