The 15 Best Places to Visit in 2026
Looking for the best destinations to add to your travel list this year? As we ring in the New Year, here is my list of where to go in 2026, including some of the hottest trending travel spots right now, as well as some of my personal favorites and where I’m booking!
I live and breathe luxury travel, and, this year, I feel a big shift happening in what people are craving. Travelers aren’t chasing more stamps, they’re chasing more meaning. There is shift away from frantic, over-packed itineraries and toward experiences that feel intentional, beautifully paced, and special. Travelers are interested in fewer destinations, better hotels, experiential moments, and travel that actually leaves you feeling restored instead of depleted. Unplugged is the new luxury. Quality time together is what it’s all about, and access to places that still feel undiscovered, even in a social media world, to service that anticipates our needs rather than performs, and experiences that feel deeply personal, not packaged. People are seeking elevated luxurious experiences they feel are worth leaving home for!!! In 2026, the most coveted trips won’t be the loudest or the trendiest. They’ll be the ones that feel deeper, more transportive, and that leave us with the most memories long after the bags are unpacked.
Each of the destinations below offers a unique mix of relaxation, adventure, and an incredible time whether you are traveling as a couple, with friends, or traveling as a family. Get ready to be inspired, and book those plane tickets (and don’t forget if you’re booking any hotels to go through my travel agency for free VIP perks!!) Here we go!
The Best Places to Visit in 2026
1. Sardinia, Italy
Sardinia might just have it all. Imagine if Spain, the Amalfi Coast, the French Riviera and the British Virgin Islands had an island baby… welcome to Sardinia. With the food and wine from Italy, the crystal clear turquoise Caribbean-like sea, and the rustic charm of Spain all in one incredible island, Sardinia is a must-see. It was one of my favorite destinations I went to on our honeymoon, so much so that we went back as a family last year, and had the most incredible time. This island is getting hotter and hotter (with a new Delta direct flight from the US announced this year to take advantage of!!!) and it’s somewhere I highly recommend for your 2026 travels! Boat around the islands of La Maddelena or lounge at a fantastic beach club, followed by delicious wine, fresh seafood, and the la-dolce-vita vacation energy of your dreams.
For my full guide on Sardinia, check out this post here
If you’re interested in booking a trip to Sardinia, contact [email protected] for hotel recommendations, boat recommendations, the best rates, free VIP perks and upgrades you can get for booking through us, and our travel advisor services.
2. Los Cabos, Mexico
If you haven’t already experienced the magic of Los Cabos, you need to head to this Mexican desert-meets-coastal gem in 2026!! This slice of Mexican paradise blends relaxation and adventure in a way that nowhere else can. We go back every year for a reason. It has the most DREAMY luxury resorts per capita than anywhere else in North America, and every trip I’m floored by the luxury hotel scene.
I always am exploring the best hotels in Cabo (you can read all of my favorites in this post), and it just keeps getting better. Whether I’m lounging poolside, sipping spicy margs under the sun, heading to one of the to-die-for farm-to-table restaurants, or exploring the colorful towns, Cabo and the Los Cabos area delivers every time.
JETSET TIP: I travel to Cabo year round, and you can find great weather year-round, but the water will be much cooler in the winter, and there is also a hurricane season (Sept/Oct). We tend to have great weather year round and often go in the winter, but the best time to visit IMO is March – June! These months bring dry, sunny days, which are ideal for enjoying the beach and warm ocean.

my top 5 hotels in Cabo honestly ranked here. And read up on my favorite villas in Cabo for a group here.
3. Japan
Japan is staying super hot this year, but travelers are moving beyond the big cities into other realms of the country, like Kyoto’s traditions and Okinawa’s beaches.
I first visited Japan ten years ago (it was actually the first Asian country I ever visited!!), and I was blown away. Then, we recently went back to Tokyo as a family, and I was blown away AGAIN. Japan is a beautiful, clean, easy-to-navigate country where you can wander around historic temples in Kyoto, visit beautiful towns on the bullet train, see the sights of Mt. Fuji, and bop through the city of Tokyo and all of its bright lights, busy streets, and incredible food. No matter where you go, it is such a fun adventure! If you can, I highly recommend going during cherry blossom season in the spring or during their very colorful autumn. I have a 10-day travel guide here, or if you are looking for a condensed version, my 3-day guide to Tokyo can be found here!!
Another place that is hiiiigh on my bucket list this year is the new Rosewood Miyakojima, which looks like half Japan- half Maldives. Set on a quiet stretch of Okinawan coastline where the water shifts between gorgeous turquoise and deep sapphire, this is a resort that has the whole travel industry buzzing right now. Villas are low-slung and serene, design-forward with private pools, outdoor baths, and an almost meditative sense of space. It’s the kind of luxury that’s felt, not flaunted. Thoughtful service, incredible food that honors local ingredients, and a pace that invites you to slow all the way down.

We recently traveled to Japan with our toddler, and I think it’s an amazingly family-friendly travel destination, as well.

4. Anguilla
Anguilla is a Caribbean paradise famous for its flawless beaches and relaxed vibe, making it at the top of my list of the best places to travel in 2026! When I think about Anguilla, I think about recharging my soul on some of the whitest, softest sand you will ever see. But it’s not just a sun-soaked island known for its beaches – the local culture and foooood is where the magic of this island is! Think: soft reggae beats, delish seafood, and colorful reefs and beaches. Kenny and I spent time here on our babymoon before Harrison was born, and went back as a family last year. It was amazing.
JETSET TIP: If you are heading to Anguilla, you will want to stay at one of these luxurious resorts (trust me, it’s 100% worth the $$$!). Mark your calendars for a visit between December and May to get the most out of those sunny days!!!
If you’re interested in booking a trip to Anguilla, contact [email protected] for hotel recommendations, the best rates, free perks you can get for booking through us, and our travel advisor services.
5. The British Virgin Islands
If you haven’t been to the British Virgin Islands yet, it’s time to check it off of your bucket list. This is a DREAM travel destination. Picture yourself sailing through crystal-clear turquoise waters, discovering secluded white sand beaches, and sipping rum punches under the swaying palms at some of the most stunning – and most fun – bars in the world – some that you can only boat to!!!!
Whether you’re snorkeling vibrant coral reefs, exploring the famous Baths on Virgin Gorda, soaking up the sun on Jost Van Dyke, or dancing barefoot at a pirate ship bar that you boated up to, the BVIs have this magical way of making you feel both completely relaxed and endlessly inspired. It’s not just a trip—it’s the kind of unforgettable escape (and fun group trip!) you’ll be dreaming about long after you return home.

6. The Maldives
Possibly my favorite place in the world, The Maldives is an absolute must-visit travel destination in 2026!! It’s also one of my favorite places and a top recommendation for dreamy honeymoon destinations. Who wouldn’t fall in love with the crystal-clear waters, picture-perfect views, thriving marine life and snorkeling, and amazing overwater bungalows?! Despite being popular as an ultimate luxury and romantic honeymoon destination, you may be surprised to find out that Maldives is also a baby and kid-friendly destination, making it a perfect exotic escape for family getaways, too! (we recently went with our 9-month-old on a family vacation to the Maldives and it was amazing!)
JETSET TIP: November to April ensures the best season to visit the Maldives for good weather.
7. Ischia, Italy
Ischia, Italy’s best-kept secret, is a magical island that continues to impress Amalfi Coast travelers its authentic old-school-Italian charm and stunning landscapes. Nestled in the Amalfi Coast, the island of Ischia boasts lush gardens, thermal hot springs, and beautiful beach clubs, offering a serene escape from the bustling tourist spots of Amalfi, Positano, and Capri. Whether you’re exploring its historic villages, indulging in local cuisine, or unwinding in natural hot springs, Ischia provides a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Its unspoiled beauty and tranquil ambiance make it a must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic Italian island experience, away from the crowds.

9. Portugal
Portugal is such an amazing destination, and it’s no wonder it’s one of the trendiest destinations of 2026. Portugal offers history, beaches, and delicious pastries (and some of my favorite wines!). Lisbon is a historic city with charming neighborhoods and soulful music. Portugal’s coastline boasts golden beaches and hidden coves like Praia da Marinha, which is 100% a must-see!
JETSET TIP: Like many European countries, Portugal is very kid-friendly, so feel free to bring the whole family!

10. Bora Bora
Bora Bora is a bucket list destination for a reason – so why not check it off this year?
Often in a battle with the Maldives of “which luxury travel destination is the best in the world,” Bora Bora has it ALL! Turquoise water, fancy overwater bungalows, and a romantic, adventurous, and luxurious vibe, and it’s one of my favorite places in the world, and epitomizes tropical luxury and natural beauty with crystal-clear turquoise waters, pristine white sand beaches, and iconic overwater bungalows.

11. The Cotwolds, UK
Quieter regions with heritage charm and countryside luxury, like The Cotswolds in the United Kingdom, are rising in popularity this year as seasoned travelers seek curated, calm travel experiences away from crowds.
The Cotswolds is the kind of destination that feels like a deep breath in the middle of an otherwise fast world. Rolling green hills, storybook villages, and perfectly imperfect countryside charm. Days unfold slowly here. Fires crackling in historic inns, long pub lunches that turn into golden-hour walks, gardens that look casually magnificent, and boutique hotels that understand the art of quiet luxury. It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing less, beautifully.
12. Healdsburg, CA
Healdsburg, a cute and quaint part of California wine-country town nestled in the heart of Sonoma County, is the ultimate paradise if you’re a wine lover like me. This charming town offers a delightful blend of world-class wineries, picturesque vineyards, and a laid-back atmosphere. Beyond wine, Healdsburg is also known for its farm-to-table dining, artisanal cheeses, and outdoor activities like cycling and hiking. You will LOVE it here!
JETSET TIP: Stay at my favorite hotel in wine country, The Montage, and get free VIP perks if you book with my travel agency by emailing here (like a room upgrade if available, resort credits, free breakfast, late check out and more at NO cost to you!)
13. New Zealand
View this post on Instagram
If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, then this land of breathtaking views is for you!! Imagine exploring the South Island, where you’ll find the stunning Milford Sound and the icy Franz Josef Glacier. Whether you’re into hiking, skiing, or simply relaxing among nature’s beauty, New Zealand offers it all. From the enchanting fjords in national parks to the geothermal wonders of Rotorua and the adrenaline-fueled adventures in Queenstown, this island nation is a playground for nature enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike. You can enjoy quiet moments at Lake Tekapo, while vibrant cities like Auckland and Wellington showcase culture and creativity.
JETSET TIP: February is the best time to visit New Zealand if you’re trying to get amazing deals on accommodations!
14. Maui
If you’ve never been to Maui, then 2026 is the best time to visit this beautiful island in Hawaii. It’s a place where lush rainforests meet volcanic landscapes for an adventure of a lifetime. And to top all that, Maui has some of the best luxe resorts in the world (like The Four Seasons Maui, my favorite) among others. If you’re planning to visit Maui next year, be sure to check out my ultimate Maui Travel Guide for the best hotel, restaurant, and activity recommendations.
JETSET TIP: The best time to go to Maui is in the spring (April to May) or fall (September to November). It’s not too hot, and there are fewer people compared to the busy summer and winter times. Plus, winter is whale season!!! (February is the prime time to go for whales) and winter time means you can enjoy the island without dealing with big crowds.
15. Kauai
And while we’re talking Hawaii, don’t miss a few low-key days on the island of Kauai, as well! While Maui is more ‘resortey’, Kauai brings an adventurous, more rustic-paradise vibe like no other. Whether you’re hiking the breathtaking Nā Pali Coast, exploring the vibrant marine life, or simply unwinding on the sandy shores, Kauai captivates with its serene ambiance and stunning vistas (it was once the filming location of Jurassic Park!). The island’s commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage and beautiful, one-of-a-kind natural setting ensures an experience that feels both timeless and rejuvenating. You’ll want to keep coming back.
Check out my ultimate guide to Kauai here
16. Tuscany

Tuscany is the best place to sip your Chianti while taking in the stunning views and it’s also a food lover’s dream!!! Eat your heart out with delicious Italian food, and you have to stop by Florence and try the famous Florentine steak. I love visiting Florence, and the charming villages of Siena, San Gimignano, and Lucca. (check out my full guide to Tuscany here!) And while there is plenty to do, honestly the magic of Tuscany is just taking things SLOW and relaxing in the heart of the Italian countryside. I recommend signing up for a cooking class (this is the one we did, they were WONDERFUL!!! Let them know I sent you!) one of the days you’re there!
JETSET TIP: Plan your trip to Tuscany in late spring (April to May) and early autumn (September to October). During these times, the Tuscan countryside is alive with bright colors, and the weather is oh so just perfect!! Not sure what to pack? Read this post for the ultimate Italy packing list.
17. The Greek Isles
While Italy always gets the attention, 2026 is the year of Greece, I’m calling it. Perfect for travelers in 2026 seeking a blend of rich history, stunning landscapes, delicious food, and beautiful beaches. From the iconic white-washed buildings of Santorini, to the lively beaches of Mykonos, to the more off-the-beaten-track destinations of Naxos and Paros, to the dreamy island of Milos, each island offers its own unique charm. Island hopping allows you to experience the diverse beauty of the Aegean Sea, indulge in the BEST Mediterranean cuisine, and immerse yourself in the warm hospitality of the culture! Whether you’re exploring ancient ruins, sailing through crystal-clear waters, or simply relaxing on sun-drenched shores, the Greek Isles provide an unforgettable escape that captivates your heart and soul.
Check out my guide on Which Greek Isle is Best for You and my island-hopping guide to Greece
The smaller and lesser-known island of Milos is part of the popular Cyclades archipelago (made famous by the popular islands of Santorini and Mykonos). What makes Milos unique is the other-worldly beach landscapes and cliff formations you can find here like Sarakiniko beach and the cliffs of Kleftiko! Rent an ATV and spend an unforgettable few days exploring the entire island, stopping at all the small fishing villages and hidden beaches along the way! There will be fewer mega luxury resorts on this island, and more family-owned boutique hotels/Airbnbs.
18. South Africa
If you’re looking for the perfect bucket list adventure this year that combines beach, adventure, epic views, and wine tasting, visit South Africa!!! South Africa is hands down one of the most incredible places I’ve ever been in the world where you can go for the South Africa safari trips in Kruger National Park, wine taste in Stellenbosch, hike Table Mountain, snap some stunning views on the Cape of Good Hope, explore the thriving city of Cape Town, and see penguins at Boulder Beach, ALL IN ONE TRIP! Best of all, you get to experience the different cultures at Cape Town’s markets and enjoy the vibrant African culture.
JETSET TIP: Keep in mind South Africa’s warmest season is during our winter, the ideal time to visit for a safari in South Africa is in US Fall!
If you’re planning to visit anytime soon, don’t forget to check out my honeymoon guide to South Africa for some of the best personal recommendations on resorts, hotels, restaurants and the things to do!!
18. The Bahamas
Harbour Island and Eleuthera in the Bahamas are having a moment, with pastel-toned cottages, retro-chic hideaways, and picture-perfect luxury without crowds.
Harbour Island in the Bahamas is a dreamy destination that effortlessly combines natural beachfront beauty with laid-back luxury and delicious Caribbean food. Famous for its stunning pink-hued sand beaches, this charming island offers a serene escape from the everyday. Whether you’re exploring the quaint streets of Dunmore Town, indulging in fresh seafood at local eateries, or simply basking in the sun on the rosy shores, Harbour Island is a great spot for a family vacation or couples getaway.

19. Thailand
From the emerald rice terraces of Chiang Mai and the artistic pulse of Bangkok’s boutique neighborhoods to the limestone cliffs and hidden coves of Krabi and the dreamy islands of Phuket, Thailand offers a rhythm that luxury travelers are craving right now. In 2026, it’s not just about postcard beaches; it’s about curated experiences that feel deeply local: forest temples at dawn, private longtail boat trips through secret lagoons, chef-led dinners in spice markets, and boutique resorts that blur indoor-outdoor living with impeccable design. Whether you’re moving slowly through artisanal towns in Isaan, indulging in wellness retreats on Koh Samui, or watching the light shift over Phang Nga Bay with a glass of wine in hand, Thailand is about adventure and relaxation, at the same time. For those who want culture, coastlines, cuisine, and calm all in one breathtaking itinerary, Thailand is one of the most compelling luxury destinations on the map in 2026.
20. The Belmond Orient Express in Italy
There are trips, and there are experiences. The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is an iconic Belmond train is less about getting from Point A to Point B and more about stepping into a moving dream old-world glamour, complete with Art Deco train cars, polished wood, and a delicious dinner service that makes you feel like you’re in a nostalgic Italian film. From Venetian canals,or new 2026 routes that skim the Amalfi Coast and Italian Riviera, every mile feels like a rediscovery of travel’s golden age, where the view out your window matters just as much as the glass of Champagne in your hand. It’s the kind of experience that turns transportation into destination (my favorite kind), where you feel like you’re stepping back in time.

21. Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston, South Carolina, is constantly ranked as the #1 city to visit in the USA, and it’s no wonder why. It’s a city that effortlessly blends historic Southern charm with modern allure. Strolling through its cobblestone streets, vibrant gardens, beautiful beaches or chic rooftop bars, you’ll always find a good time in Charleston. Not to mention the best food scene in the US! With fresh seafood, and innovative dining experiences. Charleston will charm you with its warm hospitality and timeless beauty in 2026, and I can’t recommend it enough!
