The Ultimate Cabo Babymoon Guide

To me, there’s nowhere quite like Cabo for a relaxing babymoon. It’s warm, dry, and always such a perfect vacation vibe. The food is amazing, the resorts are even better, and there’s just no place like it to soak up the sol with your loved one (and that soon-to-be plus one in your belly!). If you have been following me for a while now, you know that Mexico truly has my heart. I spent my 30th birthday in Cabo, so it only felt right to spend some time with Kenny and the coconut here, too! And, even if I couldn’t indulge in ALL of the spicy margs like usual, we had a great time.

Where We Stayed on Our Babymoon in Cabo

Five-Bedroom Luxury Villa

Kenny and I were lucky enough to have both his family and my family come stay with us for part of our babymoon in Cabo, so we opted for a five-bedroom luxury villa for the first part of our stay! This villa came complete with a heated pool, a jacuzzi, a gourmet kitchen, and the most beautiful Cabo views. It was SO spacious so everyone had their own little area of the house and a huge room – great for families. We made it even better by hiring our very own private chef (@spicygourmetloscabos – a must when you are staying in a villa IMO)!

Looking to stay in a luxury villa in Cabo? Here are all of the best villas in Cabo for a group!

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

Believe you me when I say the photos of this place DO NOT do it justice. This five-star resort was an absolute dream! The Waldorf Astoria is set right in between the ocean and Cabo’s jagged cliffs, so the views are stunning, to say the least. And you know I’m a sucker for an in-room plunge pool! One of the most necessary luxury amenities IMHO. SO many of their rooms have plunge pools – which is really great. We stayed in the Estrella suite (pictured above) but my parents were in an oceanview deluxe with plunge (pictured below) that was soooo nice too (the only difference was the Estrella suite had multiple rooms, and a panoramic view!)

The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos does an incredible job at making everyone’s stay at the resort ULTRA special – from all the little amenities they give each guest  – for example, each afternoon they have ‘chips and guac’ service come to your room with free chips and guacamole (so good) and coronas! It’s so genius – I wish every resort did this! And everyone is gifted a small beautiful clase azul tequila bottle with every room, too! So nice. I love these extra service touches.

AND, they also knew how to make a babymoon extra special and had this adorable set of bunny slippers for our baby waiting for us on the bed one night at turndown service – so thoughtful!

Where We Ate on Our Babymoon in Cabo

Y’all know I would eat chilaquiles and drink spicy margs any day, anywhere, but Cabo has some of the best cuisines out of anywhere I have been! At the villa, we had spicy gourmet food prepared by our private chef (soooo yummy!), but while staying at the Waldorf, we ventured out to a few of our favorite restaurants!

El Huerto

This farm-to-table restaurant is unique for so many reasons! Not only does it have some of the freshest, most sustainable ingredients in Cabo, and the ambiance is SO cool. Highly recommend – only 5-10 minutes from downtown Cabo!

El Farallon

El Farallon is located at the Waldorf Astoria and is one of Cabo’s best restaurants. The romantic vibes are absolutely perfect for a honeymoon or babymoon! And the views… they are immaculate! For a restaurant with a big WOW factor (and an epic sunset view), look no further than El Farallon located at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos.

Don Manuel’s

Don Manuel’s is one of the most highly-rated restaurants in all of Cabo San Lucas (according to TripAdvisor)! Here, you will find stunning views, fantastic food and drink options, and even live music! Located right at the Waldorf Astoria – but great to go to even if you’re not staying there!

What We Packed For Our Babymoon in Cabo

I have a blog post all about packing for Mexico (and one about packing for babymoons, specifically!), but here is exactly what Kenny and I packed for our babymoon in Cabo!

This yellow sundress is $129 from Revolve!!

Both the top and the skirt are from Revolve!

I also paired this skirt with this cute white bandeau top. Currently on sale!!

Obsessed with how this black bandeau swimsuit looked against the azure Cabo waters and jagged rocks!! Both the top and the bottoms are from Kenny Flowers/Watercolors Swim, of course!

Every girl needs our white Santorini Jacquard one piece!! It goes perfectly with any KF trunks, but Kenny is wearing The Offshores embroidered palm swim trunks in this pic here.

Those of you who have been keeping up on IG stories know that I have been LIVING in this bumpsuit (it comes in black, too, so chic!). If you are pregnant, you need it!! I paired it with this jean jacket for the flight back to Charleston

And we can’t forget about the Piña Colada King himself!! Kenny sported the KF Moonshine Shirt all over the Waldorf Astoria.

Wearing a Watercolors Swim sample I’m working on! Shop a similar suit here.

Is it safe to babymoon in Mexico?

Expecting moms have every right to be worried about safety when it comes to where to babymoon. Since you’ll want to make sure you do not travel to places with Zika virus or malaria, it’s important to research pregnancy-safe babymoon destinations. Typically, Zika nor malaria are not an issue in Cabo, Mexico, which makes Cabo a safe place to babymoon!

Pregnancy-safe sunscreen

I used Coola the whole time – Kenny and I are both addicted, and it’s pregnancy safe! There’s just no better sunscreen!
