The 10 Best Designs for Your Save the Date Card

Looking for the best save the date designs to let your guests know where and when you’re planning your wedding?

As you guys know if you’ve been following along my instagram stories, I’ve been wedding planning a lot this year after getting engaged in Bali in February! My wedding is in Wailea, Maui next April and I am so excited! I’m also excited that the beginning steps of wedding planning are over because, man, that was the hard part. Now I get to be creative!  Making our Save the Date was a perfect excuse to get creative and have some fun!

We just sent out our save the dates (about 9 months in advance), and I recommend that brides out there send them out around then for a destination wedding or a local wedding. These days, the majority of your guests will need to book some sort of travel and it’s nice to give them as much of a heads up as necessary so they can plan their trip!

Anyway – let’s get to the good stuff : STDs!!!!

SAVE THE DATES, you pervs.

Here is my list of the best Save the Date designs out there for 2019 and 2020 – all from Minted because Minted is amazing, and they’re who I used for our Save the Date (fine guys, I won’t call it an STD!!!), so I can vouch for their quality and amazing customer service. I also love that their Save the Dates don’t pimp out Minted on them, but rather just present YOUR photo and wording – which you can customize! I recently got a Save the Date from Shutterfly that LOUDLY had the Shutterfly logo right there slapped on the front of the save the date – ew! tacky. Sorry if that was you. Not your fault – blame Shutterfly.

Also, I love Minted because each of their designs is hand-made by an independent artist designer who you can see and get to know on the site. It’s so cool to see the actual person who put the hard work into your beautiful Save the Date!

I also love that you can also really easily see YOUR photo with all of the different options, so you can shop around easily for the perfect one for your photo. AND they’ll even send an example to you for free in the mail to touch and feel in person before you commit.

1. My Type Save the Date by Minted – what we used for ours!

"My Type" - Foil-pressed Save The Date Cards in Ivory by AK Graphics.

As you can see, we customized “Save the Date” to “Meet Us in Paradise” for our destination wedding save the date. I love the gold-foil writing and loooove that Minted makes it so easy to customize everything!

As far as sizing for your Save the Date, the bigger the better. I love 5×7 in comparison with 4×6 Save the Dates – it makes a huge difference and just looks sophisticated and higher quality.

We also added rounded corners, gold-lined envelopes, and custom stamps with our photo ordered right there on Minted as well (which I love!!!)

The Big Picture

2. Simple Beauty Foil-pressed Save the Date by Minted

"Simple Beauty" - Foil-pressed Save The Date Cards in Onyx by Kate Ahn.

I love the fonts on this Save the Date – it’s GORGEOUS. Looks so upscale and beautiful. I’d recommend doing it on the pearlized glossy paper!

3. Pretty Love Save the Date Magnet by Minted

"Pretty Love" - Save The Date Magnets in Onyx by Christine Taylor.

Love this save the date magnet – so classy and modern. A magnet is a great option and I love going over to friend’s houses and seeing all the adorable Save the Dates pinned to the fridge.

4. Elegance Save the Date by Minted

"Elegance" - Foil-pressed Save The Date Cards in Pearl by GeekInk Design.

5. Dearly Lines Save the Date

"dearly lines" - Foil-pressed Save The Date Cards in Ebony by aticnomar.

Maybe you don’t want a photo of you to be the focus of your save the date – this non-photo save the date is a great option. You can always add a small photo on the back! I love how swanky this Save the Date looks. It looks somewhere between Great Gatsby and tropical elegance.

6. Botanique Save the Date by Minted

"Botanique" - Floral & Botanical Save The Date Petite Cards in Cotton by Lauren Chism.

I love this Botanique Save the Date – super traditional and love the way the names are presented.

7. Sparkle Save the Date by Minted

"Sparkling Dust" - Classical Foil-pressed Save The Date Cards in Snow by fatfatin.

This one is PURE elegance. I love it.

8. Modern Love Save the Date Card by Minted
