A 3-Day Weekend Girls Trip Guide to Charleston

Looking for the ultimate girls’ weekend itinerary for Charleston? Charleston is full of Southern charm, amazing shopping, a foodie scene that may or may not be the best in America, beautiful beaches, bars and more. Named as the “Best City in the World”, Charleston is seriously a perfect mix of everything you could ever want in a girls weekend getaway – amazing restaurants, cool vibes, that old-school Southern charm, plus beaches that make every day feel like you’re on vacation. We fell in love in this city so much that my husband and I decided to move here, which means I have all the local tips and tricks for you guys!

THE ULTIMATE CHARLESTON GIRLS WEEKEND GUIDE

Friday – Hello, Charleston!

First things first, where to stay? Charleston is not just about its Insta-worthy streets and drool-worthy eats. It’s also home to some of the coziest, most gorgeous boutique hotels to crash after a day of exploring. Whether you’re here to chill, shop, or just live it up with your girls, I’ve got the scoop on the best spots to stay for a girls trip.

If I’m picking where to stay for a girls trip in Charleston, The Cooper is it. Their pool is the hottest pool in Charleston right now — it honestly feels like you’ve been teleported to a European beach club on the harbor. Think chic loungers, gorgeous water views, a see-and-be-seen crowd, and that I’m-definitely-on-vacation energy that sets the tone for the whole weekend. It’s sleek, it’s social, it’s so photogenic, and it’s the perfect home base for a girls trip where you actually want to spend a full day poolside before heading out for dinner on King Street.

Free Jetset VIP Perks for booking with me at The Cooper!

  • Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
  • Daily breakfast credit of $45 per person, for up to two guests per bedroom, served in the restaurant (credit is non-cumulative)
  • $100 USD equivalent Food & Beverage credit to be utilized during stay (not combinable, not valid on room rate, no cash value if not redeemed in full)
  • Early check-in / late check-out, subject to availability
  • A welcome amenity (book in the next few months and it’s a bottle of Veuve!)

(just email me your dates here and I’ll send rates!)

or:

Hotel Bennett

Hotel Bennett gives you easy access to Upper King where all of the shopping areas and best restaurants are located. The rooms are big and embody Southern-charm-luxe. With its elegant decor and top-notch amenities, including a spa, a tea room, a rooftop pool, and fine dining options, Hotel Bennett offers a taste of the high life in the heart of the city. It’s perfect for a girls weekend. Don’t forget to try their gourmet pastries from their in-house patisserie (so good!).

The Loutrel

For a sleek and modern experience with a bit of Charleston’s heritage to it, The Loutrel is a great spot. This hotel has a beautiful rooftop terrace, and a prime location. The interiors are a blend of contemporary chic and Southern elegance, a stylish haven right in the bustling historic district.

After check-in

Get ready for pre-dinner cocktails after checking in – if you’re at the Ryder, you can head to their poolside bar for some delicious happy our drinks or you can make your way over to Bar Felix on King Street to start the evening with a bang in the form of one of their to-die-for espresso martinis, and a cute French-bistro-style atmosphere right on King St.

Next up, grab dinner at 167 Raw they don’t take reservations, but it’s worth the wait (and it’s usually not too bad – just get on the list early!), or, if your group prefers to have your reservation locked in, do dinner at The Ordinary.  If you’re a seafood lover like me, you’ll love this spot. The vibe? It’s like a fancy dinner party with oysters & seafood.

Cap off the night at Last Saint or you can sneak into their secret speakeasy for more intimate vibes (shh, you need a reservation on Resy for this!). It’s the perfect spot for late-night fancy drinks.

Saturday – Explore!

Kickstart your day with a hot-girl-walk and get your morning fuel at either Harken Cafe, my go-to coffeeshop in Charleston (get the quiche or a breakfast biscuit sandwich while you’re there!), or Sorelle’s El Mercato – a chic Italian bistro-feeling coffee shop with some of the best lattes in town. Both are located South of Broad so perfect for starting the day. From there, stroll down to The Battery, then hit Rainbow Row for those iconic Charleston girls pics.

For a boozy brunch, head over to Shem Creek. Whether you’re feeling the chill vibes at Tavern & Table or Sunsets, or ready to party at Saltwater Cowboy, you’re in for boozy brunch with beautiful waterside views, and so much fun.

After brunch, it’s time for some shopping (my favorite part of the trip!) in the best shopping area … maybe in the world? King Street.

Not sure where to start shopping on King Street? Pop into Kenny Flowers at 345 King Street for some chic resortwear, dresses, swimwear or gifts for your hubby you left at home. From there, you can head down King to hit some other cute boutiques – some of my favorites are Veronica Beard, Juliska for homeware, Lake Pajamas, and any of the cute art galleries!

After all that retail therapy, grab your girls and head to Citrus Club for some gorgeous sunset cocktails with unbeatable Charleston views.

For Dinner, head over to Delaney Oyster House (shhhh! it’s a locals secret – and my fav!) Then, dance the night away at Henry’s Rooftop or jam out to live music at The Royal American.

Sunday – Chill and Relax!

After all that fun, refuel at The Daily. Their breakfast burrito will bring you ALL back to life, I promise.

And if you’re looking for some last minute shopping I recommend local jewelry spot Hart Jewelry (right next door to the Daily!) for a custom charm necklace, then, if you have a full day before your flight, hit the beach! I recommend Sullivan’s Island – it’s the closest to the city and is a local gem. If you want to rent a beach umbrella or chairs, you can do that right at Sealand Adventure Sports right on the main strip.

Too much sun? Grab lunch at Longboard, Home Team, or Obstinate Daughter if you can snag a reservation!

Then check out of your hotel, head to the airport, and start planning your next trip back!

And there you have it, a whirlwind perfect girls’ weekend in Charleston that’s sure to be filled with so much fun, unforgettable moments, good food, and some great shopping. Get ready to fall in love with every corner of this charming city!
