Where to Eat with a Group in Charleston – The Best Restaurants for a Group
Whether you’re coming to Charleston for a bachelorette party or bachelor party, attending a wedding in town, or visiting with a group of friends, Charleston is a great vacation destination with a group. But, it’s also a destination that you NEED a dinner reservation long ahead of your trip. You can’t just roll around King Street and find a reservation for 8 available, so you’ll want to book all your reservations ahead of time. Which is where I come in.
Hall’s Chophouse
vibe: fancy, dark, energetic 60’s steakhouse.
go if you’re in the mood for: a dirty martini and a delicious steak.
If you’re looking for the most iconic Charleston steak house, and a great vibe for a fancy night out with friends, head to Hall’s. The restaurant features exposed brick walls, plush leather seats and warm lighting like an old-world, traditional steakhouse. Complemented by superior service and an always-knowledgeable staff, Halls Chophouse is a must-stop in Charleston.
Longboard – Sullivan’s Island
vibe: light and bright, coastal, tropical
go if you’re in the mood for: fresh catch and a bomb cocktail
I love Longboard for their delicious cocktails and food!! This is one of the best group dinner spots in Charleston, and one of the best brunch spots in Charleston as well, great for eating on Sullivan’s Island before hitting the beach. But don’t sleep on the dinner menu, too! I had some of the freshest catch of fish the last time I went – it was SO good. It’s family friendly, too!

RITUAL rooftop
vibe: chic tropical rooftop
go if you’re in the mood for: a great group dinner spot and sunset views
This chic, brand new rooftop has one of the best views in all of Charleston, and you can actually usually find a group reservation since it’s new to town. I love this spot with a group! The food is SO good (get the chicken empanadas!) and the cocktails are fab, too. I love this spot for a bachelorette party in Charleston – so cute and chic and you can get great pics.

Blind Tiger Pub
vibe: hidden gem, patio pub
go if you’re in the mood for: mimosas and bloodies
When a bunch of friends and I went to this historical bar, we were expecting a small pub… but walk further into this seemingly neighborhood pub and you get to the most beautiful (and packed) outdoor patio area that truly makes this bar the gem it is. It feels kind of like an old historical English courtyard mixed with a jungle. Check out their Sunday brunch for mimosas, bellinis (my favorite) and Bloody Mary’s until 3pm!
Tavern & Table – Shem Creek
Located in Shem Creek (just over the bridge from downtown Charleston, in the hip, family-friendly suburb of Mt. Pleasant), Tavern + Table is a great spot to grab lunch on the water in Charleston. It’s gorgeous and the food is so good! Get a table outside for the best atmosphere, but the inside is great too. HIGHLY recommend the peel & eat shrimp and the crab and artichoke dip. So delicious.

Home team Barbecue
vibe: buzzy coastal, family friendly
go if you’re in the mood for: water views and peel n’ eat shrimp
With three locations across the city (in West Ashley, Downtown Charleston, and Sullivans Island), Home Team barbecue has become more than just a barbecue staple – it’s a Charleston meat empire. Their addictive smoked wings, their delicious pulled pork nachos, and their signature frozen gamechanger cocktails are just what the doctor ordered after a long day on the beach or out exploring Charleston. This is a spot that doesn’t do reservations, but is worth going to if you have a group. Also a great place to watch a game!
Indaco
vibe: Italian right in downtown
go if you’re in the mood for: pizza and pasta
For a great pizza, pasta and Italian in Charleston, and a great group spot where you can usually find a reservation, look no further than Indaco. I love their neopolitan-style pizzas, delish pastas, and their fresh caesar salad (that is authentic zesty caesar dressing, not creamy-mayo-wannabe-caesar!)
