The Best Spa in San Francisco?! Nob Hill Spa is a City Oasis.
When I checked into Nob Hill Spa, I felt like I was immediately transported into relaxation mode. Looking out onto a serene indoor infinity pool overlooking the cityscape, taking in the quietly elegant atmosphere of robes, hot tubs and champagne, I instantly felt as fresh + refreshed as the delicious fruit-infused spa water in my glass. If only every day could be like this.
A true urban escape, Nob Hill Spa is located inside of the beautiful brick-and-ivy covered Scarlet Huntington Hotel in the upscale neighborhood of Nob Hill . It’s not a large spa, but their facilities (and view) are top-notch. The beautiful complex includes a fitness room, a eucalyptus steam room, sauna, 10 treatment rooms, a “zen room”, a co-ed pool & hot tub and an outdoor terrace- where butlers serve you cocktails & deliciously healthy spa food on their shiny silver platters.
The treatment menu is chalk-full of amazing options; from massages to face and body treatments. There are also wonderful couples treatment options for those couples looking for an escape (or treating each other to a spa day on their visit to San Francisco together!). My go-to is always the facial, since I love feeling the glow of my rejuvenated skin afterwards. This time, I chose the Carita gold facial (by the very talented Dani), a luxuriousfacial incorporating exfoliation, a trio of gold mask, a facial and shoulder massage, as well as a moisturizing ritual that is specialized to give skin vitality, firmness, and radiance. It definitely accomplished that and more. The best, most relaxing, most skin-revitalizing 80 minutes, ever.
After my facial, I retreated to the locker room and the pool area, taking in the true serenity of the place. Everything about this spa whispers tranquility. From the attention to detail in the locker room (where you can find chilled lavender-infused face towels and an array of Moroccan oil hair products), to the immaculate service of the staff, to the soothing reflections of the city swaying in the infinity pool water. I spent the entire day in an intoxicating trance of pure relaxation, enjoying every second of the afternoon sipping champagne on the outdoor terrace, taking in the sunshine and reading a good book in my plush robe. If that isn’t relaxation, I don’t know what is.
The truth is, in the stress-filled world we live in today, relaxation is not something that comes easy, and sometimes, we just need to treat ourselves to it. Nob Hill Spa is somewhere where you can go trusting you will come out of the day feeling more centered & relaxed than ever before, and that is more than worth the cost of admission.
