Our Family Trip to Cabo at Waldorf Astoria Pedregal

As you guys know, I love Los Cabos for any sort of getaway – from a romantic couples trip, to a trip with friends, to a babymoon (we actually babymooned at this same hotel!). With Cabo’s desert-chic vibes, gorgeous views, delicious Mexican food, and incredible luxury resorts, it is one of my favorite travel destinations in the world.

The Waldorf Astoria Pedregal Los Cabos is a stunning hotel set right between the Pacific Ocean and Cabo’s majestic cliffs, in the prestigious gated resort community of Pedregal. The views are breathtaking, and the area of Pedregal feels like Mexican Italy (seriously, it looks like the Amalfi Coast!). Did I mention ALL the rooms at the Waldorf have an in-room plunge pool?! Which is so ideal if you’re traveling with little ones like we were with my 9-month old baby boy. He loooooved the private pool, which was always a balmy 85-90 degrees. We stayed in one of their 2-bedroom villas, and even brought our nanny along to stay in the second bedroom, which made things easier for us and allow us to have some date nights while in Cabo, as well!

We had such a great time, and felt really relaxed there the whole week. The Waldorf Astoria Pedregal Los Cabos does an incredible job at making everyone’s stay at the resort sooo special – from all the little amenities they give each guest  – like complimentary Clase Azul bottles of tequila in every room, and every afternoon they have ‘chips and guac’ service come to your room with free chips and guacamole (so good) and coronas! It’s so genius – I wish every resort did this! So awesome.

Where We Ate in Cabo

You guys know I would eat chilaquiles and drink spicy margs any day, anywhere, and I did, in fact, order chilaquiles EVERY single day of our vacation at breakfast (omg, the breakfast buffet was out of this world at the Waldorf).  Here’s where we ate both on and off resort in Cabo.

Tres Sirenas

I loved this spot for a fun, really colorful, delicious Mexican meal in downtown. We took a 10-minute taxi from the resort and it was super easy! The margs here were to-die-for! And the food was too. Not cheap, but a great atmosphere. Great for a group, too! We brought the baby, too! It was loud but he slept right through it (I swear restaurants are the best white noise for him!)

El Huerto

This farm-to-table restaurant is a great choice for where to eat in Cabo. Not only does it have some of the freshest, most sustainable ingredients in Cabo, and the ambiance is SO cool. Highly recommend – it’s like Flora Farms but WAY closer, only 5-10 minutes from downtown Cabo!

El Farallon

El Farallon is a must on any trip to Cabo. It is located at the Waldorf Astoria and is one of Cabo’s best restaurants. For a restaurant with a big WOW factor (and an epic sunset view), look no further than El Farallon located at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos. This will easily be the most memorable meal of your trip.

Don Manuel’s

Don Manuel’s is located on property at the Waldorf and is one of the most highly-rated restaurants in all of Cabo San Lucas (according to TripAdvisor)! Here, you will find stunning views, fantastic food and drink options, and even live music! I looooved the food here, especially the homemade warm, crusty sourdough bread – yum. I’m a sucker for good bread at any restaurant and did not expect to find one of my favorite sourdoughs in Cabo!

Is Cabo baby-friendly?

Definitely!!! Cabo is an excellent choice for a family vacation with kids of all ages, and we found it to be the perfect getaway with our baby boy! We loved the ease of staying at the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal, and loved their kid-friendly pools and activities! There were a ton of other families, and others with little ones (even as young as a couple months old!) that were enjoying paradise here.

What activities should you do in Cabo?

Take a ceviche-making class!

This class, offered at the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal, is so fun! Highly recommend.

Go tequila-tasting – without leaving the resort!

I also loved the tequila tasting offered at the Waldorf – it was so fun to learn all about tequila – I felt like I was wine tasting, but with Mexico’s finest tequilas!

Head to the spa

The spa at the Waldorf is out of this world. I looooved my massage here, and I also went to the salon for a blowout before dinner! It’s always nice when you can rely on a resort to have a world-class spa, and the Waldorf definitely has that. It’s a great way to be pampered, and steal a few relaxing hours away from your wild kids if you’re traveling as a family!

Get out on a boat!

We were in Cabo during whale season which was absolutely incredible. From December-April, you’ll see whales right off of the resort, all day long! it’s so cool. But getting out on a boat to see them is next-level. You can get up close and personal, and, even if you’re not there during whale season, it’s beautiful to go see Cabo’s famous arch and lover’s beach.
