If you’re planning to visit Jackson Hole anytime soon, this guide is the perfect companion to help you make the most of your trip!! I’ve listed all the best places to see and stay, where to eat, and where to dine without missing a beat!

Grand Teton National Park

Why Visit: Grand Teton National Park is a true wilderness gem! Towering mountain peaks, pristine lakes, and abundant wildlife define this natural paradise.

Best Spots: The majestic Teton Range is a focal point, offering endless opportunities for hiking, photography, and wildlife spotting.

What I Love: Explore Jenny Lake, hike to Hidden Falls, and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of moose, elk, or even grizzly bears!!

Yellowstone National Park

Why Visit: Just a short drive from Jackson Hole, Yellowstone is America’s oldest national park, renowned for its geothermal wonders and diverse ecosystems!

Best Spots: The iconic Old Faithful geyser and the colorful Grand Prismatic Spring are must-sees!!

What I Love: Witness the power of nature with erupting geysers, bubbling mud pots, and the chance to see bison and wolves in their natural habitat.

Jackson Town Square

Why Visit: The town of Jackson is a charming hub with a rustic Western vibe. Its centerpiece is the iconic Town Square, marked by four elk antler arches (which you have surely seen on the ‘gram!!).

Best Spots: Quaint shops, art galleries, and restaurants surround the square, making it a delightful place to stroll and soak in the atmosphere.

What I Love: Don’t miss the Jackson Hole Shootout, a live Old West reenactment that takes place on the square during the summer months!

Snake River Scenic Float Trips

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

Why Visit: For outdoor enthusiasts, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort offers world-class skiing and snowboarding in the winter, as well as hiking and biking in the summer. The best of both worlds!!

Best Spots: The Aerial Tram takes you to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain, where you can savor panoramic views of the Tetons. It’s truly breathtaking!

What I Love: During the winter, the resort’s challenging terrain and deep powder are a magnet for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar

Why Visit: A visit to Jackson Hole wouldn’t be complete without stopping at this iconic bar, known for its Western decor and lively atmosphere!! Kenny and I recently visited when we were in town for a friend’s wedding, and it was a blast!!!! We got the cutest pics and the yummiest cocktails here!

Best Spots: The barstools are authentic saddles, giving patrons a true taste of cowboy culture (and they make for a great photo op!).

What I Love: Sip on a cold drink, enjoy live music, and soak in the unique ambiance that celebrates Jackson Hole’s rich Western heritage.

Grand Teton Music Festival

Why Visit: If you’re a music enthusiast, attending a performance at the Grand Teton Music Festival is a cultural highlight! This festival is held in the summer for about 6 weeks each year, so if you’re visiting around then, be sure to check it out!!

Best Things to Do: The festival attracts world-class musicians who perform in the stunning natural setting of Teton Village.

What I Love: Whether it’s classical, jazz, or contemporary music, the festival offers a diverse range of concerts that complement the area’s beauty!

Gros Ventre River Ranch

Why Visit: For a taste of the Old West, consider staying at a guest ranch like Gros Ventre River Ranch, where you can experience cowboy life. It kind of feels like you’re on the set of Yellowstone!

Best Things to Do: Enjoy horseback riding, cattle drives, and hearty Western meals in a picturesque mountain setting.

What I Love: The ranch provides an authentic Western experience, allowing guests to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature (something I think we could all use these days!!!).

Where to Ski in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

If you’re an avid skier, Jackson Hole is going to be a haven for you! Jackson Hole offers some of the most spectacular slopes and mountain scenery in the U.S. (it tops my list of best ski mountains to visit!). But even if you’re a brand-new skier, Jackson Hole can be a fun place to learn on the bunny hills. The ski season in Jackson Hole typically runs from November to April, so for optimal snow conditions, I recommend going between mid-December and mid-March!

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort offers a diverse range of terrain that caters to all skill levels. So whether you’re a beginner or an advanced skier, you’ll find something to suit your preferences! With a staggering vertical drop of 4,139 feet, the resort boasts the longest continuous vertical rise in the U.S. (a bucket list experience for sure!!). The resort also provides various ski schools/programs for those looking to refine their skills at any age/skill level!

Grand Targhee Resort

If you want a change of pace, head to Grand Targhee Resort. Located a short drive from Jackson, it’s famous for its abundant powder and tree skiing opportunities! Grand Targhee has a more laid-back and family-friendly atmosphere compared to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, making it an excellent choice if you’re traveling with kiddos.

Snow King Mountain

In the heart of Jackson is Snow King Mountain. This local gem offers great skiing while allowing you to soak in the town’s vibrant atmosphere! It’s ideal for those looking for a quick ski session without venturing too far.

Teton Pass Backcountry

Where are my adventurous spirits? Teton Pass Backcountry is for you!!! This place offers incredible off-piste experiences – just keep in mind that venturing into the backcountry requires the right avalanche safety equipment, knowledge, and experience.

The Best Ski Resorts in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

There are TONS of incredibly luxurious resorts and vacation rentals in Jackson! Just be sure to book your accommodations well in advance since this is such a popular destination (especially during peak ski season!!).
