The Ultimate Bermuda Travel Guide: Where to Stay, What to Do & More
Looking for the perfect island escape that blends British colonial island charm, pink sand beaches, luxury resorts, soft sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters? Bermuda is your SPOT! We had the BEST time exploring this dreamy destination that’s way closer than the Caribbean (hello, two-hour flight from the East Coast!) but somehow still feels like another world. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a long weekend with the girls, or a family-friendly beach escape, this Jetset Christina-approved Bermuda travel guide has everything you need to plan an unforgettable trip.
Where is Bermuda?
Let’s clear this up right away – Bermuda is not in the Caribbean. It’s actually in the Atlantic Ocean! Only about 650 miles east of North Carolina. Its unique location gives it a subtropical climate, meaning you get warm, idyllic weather with less humidity and hurricane risk than many Caribbean destinations!!

When is the Best Time to Visit Bermuda?
Bermuda is a seasonal destination. Here’s the breakdown:
May – October: Peak season. Best for beach days, boat charters, and soaking up the sun. Expect highs in the 80s.
November – March: Much cooler temps (Winter can be anywhere from 40s–70s), good for golf, spa weekends, and fewer crowds.
Jetset Tip: Shoulder season (late April, May, September, early October) gives you summer vibes with fewer people and lower rates.
How to Get to Bermuda
One of Bermuda’s biggest perks? It’s easy to get to!!!! I think of it like the Hawaii of the East Coast – but it’s actually so much closer than Hawaii is to the west coast!
Flight Time from NYC: Just under 2 hours
Flight Time from Miami: Around 2.5 hours
Airport: L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA)
Nonstop flights are available from major hubs including New York, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Charleston and Charlotte.
Where to Stay in Bermuda:
Luxury Hotels & Resorts
Rosewood Bermuda
A timeless classic, old glamour, traditional, country-club-meets-beach-club vibe. Think: ocean-view suites, a private beach club (this was a huge highlight!), luxe spa days, and understated elegance. Rosewood is a great balance of family-friendly luxury and traditional sophistication. It feels the most polished and luxurious of the options in Bermuda, and the beach club is unreal (BUT you do have to shuttle there! It’s only a quick and easy 5 min shuttle, that runs all the time, but it’s not located right where the rooms are – it’s welllllll worth it when you get there though).
What I loved about Rosewood Bermuda: the traditional luxurious vibe, it reminded me of like a Breakers of Bermuda, and the BEACH CLUB. I could spend all week just hanging at this beach every day. It was great for kids (kids under 3 eat for free, too, at all their restaurants which was so nice for a family – just not in room dining!)
How do I get Jetset perks when booking the Rosewood Bermuda?
To get perks like a free breakfast for two, a $100 resort credit, and a room upgrade (when available), email me at [email protected] – we can send you the best possible rates available and help book you with all kinds of fun perks (at no extra cost to you, and we don’t charge a fee to book!)
Even if you’ve already booked directly with the hotel, they can add these perks on for you (at no cost!) if you email me at [email protected] – just a thank you for being a Jetset reader!
St. Regis Bermuda
Located tucked away in historic St. George’s, the St. Regis Bermuda is sleek, modern, and has an unbeatable location. The dreamy infinity pools overlooks clear turquoise ocean waters, and the setting is INCREDIBLE. The golf course is also directly on property, there is a beach club 5 min walk away, and even a historic fort right there (that my son loved!). If you’re after a ‘fly and flop’ type of vacation where the beach, the pool, and everything is just EASY, this is for you.
It is worth noting that I’ve heard from some followers that the service used to need some work at this property, but we didn’t experience any problems during our recent stay, so I am hopeful that means they got their kinks out! That being said, Bermuda is understated as a whole, you don’t get the typical 5-star service you might be used to at an ultra-luxurious hotel, so while in my experience there was nothing too wrong with the service, it is worth noting it is more island-style here in Bermuda (at the Rosewood too!) they’ll get you what you need, but it’s not the type of destination where you don’t lift a finger if that makes sense.
PROS of St. Regis: The LOCATION!!!!!!!! It is one of the most stunning corners of the island, and the pool being right on the (stunning) beach right outside your hotel room window is pretty tough to beat. While you could spend your whole vacation here relaxing right around the property, there’s also a lot to do within walking distance – you could take a morning walk into St. George’s town and go to a coffee shop or go shopping, you could explore a public beach club at Tobacco Bay, you could play golf, you could check out a historic fort or some hidden coves nearby. Great for kids given the close proximity of everything and the fab family pool – also, Kids 3 and under eat free!
CONS of St. Regis : Service was super friendly but not the typical St. Regis service you may expect, the bar/cocktails needed a lot of work. Breakfast was ok, nothing terribly exciting (food was better at Rosewood). Tucked away in its own world, not near Hamilton / downtown area of Bermuda (I didn’t mind being tucked away, personally! But some like to be closer to the ‘action’).

How do I get Jetset perks when booking the St. Regis Bermuda?

The Reefs Bermuda
We didn’t stay here this trip but it’s first on my list when we return! Locals KEPT recommending this spot as one of the best places to stay if you love the beach. Perched on a pink-sand cliffside with sweeping views of the turquoise Atlantic, The Reefs is a classic Bermuda gem that feels both timeless and totally transportive. Think: rum swizzles at golden hour, sea-glass-hued infinity pools, and private beach cabanas made for lazy afternoons. This family-owned resort blends barefoot luxury with warm island hospitality — perfect for a romantic getaway or a laid-back escape with kids in tow. Bonus? It’s just a short flight from the East Coast, but feels a world away. Prices are more affordable than the above options, at around $600–$850 per night, depending on room type and booking window. Suites and oceanfront rooms can reach $1,000+, especially around holiday weeks.
Hamilton Princess & Beach Club
Located downtown, this is THE HUB of Bermuda. With a glamorous, storied past, this beautiful, sprawling pink property tends to be where a lot of corporate groups, weddings, etc. come to stay when they come to downtown Hamilton in Bermuda. It’s not directly on the beach, but has a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the boats in the marina and there is a 20-min shuttle to their beach club. The beach club was great for families (Pirate themed park right on the sand – with shade!! and paddle boards and a trampoline set up. So it’s definitely not a bad option! But overall this hotel gives me more group and ‘corporate’ vibes, than secluded resort, it’s big and beautiful and a great bustling spot if you want to be close to downtown. However, if I’m flying to Bermuda, I’d prefer to stay at the beach personally!! Nothing to complain about, though, food was good, people were nice, and room was nice!
Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa
This one is another that comes recommended, and we didn’t get the chance to check it out on our stay! It’s supposedly perfect for those craving a more low-key, west-end escape. Adult-oriented and ultra serene, with private coves and classic Bermuda charm. If you’re looking for a remote, boutique hotel, this is a great option.
Best Things to Do in Bermuda
1. Swim at Horseshoe Bay Beach
Bermuda’s most famous and most popular beach, for good reason. Powdery pink sand, rock formations, and gentle waves (perfect for traveling with babies and toddlers!) Come early before the crowds.
2. Snorkel or Dive the Shipwrecks
Bermuda is home to over 300 shipwrecks and some of the best snorkeling in the Atlantic! Do a boat tour! or try Church Bay or Tobacco Bay.
3. Have the BEST fish sandwich on the island
Every local will tell you a different secret spot to get the BEST fish sandwich in Bermuda, but I can’t imagine anything better than the sandwiches we had at Mamma Mia. They are SOOOO GOOD!!! Call ahead to order (it can get busy!!) and ask your taxi driver to stop there and get the Wahoo sandwich, on raisin bread ( a must!!! it’s the traditional way), and ask for ‘the works’ on it. They are HUGE (so if you’re not ultra-hungry, you can share one).
Mamma Mia Bermuda – the best!!
4. Golf with a View
Bermuda has more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the world. Try Mid Ocean Club or Port Royal Golf Course for jaw-dropping views.
5. Rent a Twizy or Electric Scooter
We took taxis and didn’t rent one on our trip, but I hear this is the best way to explore the island on your own time. Twizys are adorable mini electric cars that zip through the island’s winding roads. You can only fit 2 per vehicle, so not ideal for families! Also worth noting there are no rental cars on the island (taxis are prevalent, though!)
6. Explore St. George’s town
A UNESCO World Heritage Site with pastel-colored buildings, charming cobblestone streets, and a peek into Bermuda’s colonial past.
7. The Crystal & Fantasy Caves
Explore underground pools and dramatic limestone formations. Great for families or a shady escape from the sun!
8. The Bermuda Aquarium!
This is such a great escape from the sun (or rainy day activity!) if you are looking for something to do! Bermuda is famous for their (beachfront) aquarium! So fun.
9. Achilles Bay
We loved this bay (right next to the St. Regis) first thing in the morning, before anyone was there – SO beautiful – and untouched!

10. Hike the Bermuda Railway Trail around the island
Looking for the best hike in Bermuda? I’ve got you! Hiking the Railway Trail features sweeping ocean views, and winding coastal paths that once carried the island’s only train line. This scenic, 18-mile trail stretches across the island and offers a peaceful, car-free way to explore Bermuda’s hidden gems on foot. Whether you’re looking for a breezy morning stroll or a more adventurous outing with ocean cliffs and jungle vibes, it’s one of the best ways to experience the island’s natural beauty beyond the beach.
11. Shop downtown Hamilton!
We love the store TABS in downtown Hamilton, and there are some cute bookstores, antique stores, etc nearby too! Don’t forget to pop into my favorite coffee shops – Rock Island Coffee and Devil’s Isle (love their fresh-pressed green juice too!)
12. Rent a sailboat for the day!
What to Pack for Bermuda
Breezy dresses and chic coverups
Reef-safe sunscreen
Cute, high-quality swimwear!!
A light sweater for the evenings if you’re in the off-season – in mid-summer, we didn’t need!
Resort-ready sandals
Jetset Tip: Bermuda has a bit of a polished, preppy vibe — think “elevated resort wear” over beach bum boho.
Bermuda for Families
Bermuda is incredibly kid-friendly!!! We loved our room at the St. Regis because we were able to split the room in two and have my toddler sleeping in a ‘separated’ part of the big room, and our view was INSANE! It made it easy to get to the beach and pool, which is key with kids! Then we loved Rosewood Bermuda for their huge family pool as well and their sprawling beach club.
Beaches are swimmable, clean, and generally calm!!
Plenty of nature experiences, from exploring natural caves to boat rides, that don’t feel touristy!
