Your Hawaii honeymoon travel advisor

Hawaii has always had such a special place in my heart, both as a traveler and a travel advisor. It's where my husband and I got married, came back for our babymoon, and have returned as a family since, and I grew up visiting the islands at least once a year as a little girl, a tradition we've upheld with our own family. I know Hawaii like the back of my hand! As a Hawaii honeymoon travel advisor, I help couples pick the best islands in Hawaii to visit, the best resort in Hawaii (and the right room!!), and when you book through me you get additional (free) VIP perks like daily breakfast, a resort credit and an upgrade when one is available, at no extra cost to you, just for using me as your travel advisor (because I have close personal relationships with the hotels, so they will always treat my clients well!)

Planning a Hawaii honeymoon comes with a hundred small decisions (which island, which side of the island, ocean view or garden view, how many nights). I've made all of them for myself and for my clients hundreds of times, and have alllll the current feedback and intel so you don't have to guess. Here's how I plan Hawaii honeymoons, the resorts I know best, and how to book yours with me so we can make sure you have the absolute best honeymoon itinerary in Hawaii!

Why book with me

Why Plan Your Hawaii Honeymoon With a Travel Advisor?

You could book a Hawaii resort online in five minutes. Booking it with me gets you the same rate (or better) plus everything below:

Free VIP perks.

At Hawaii's best resorts, like daily breakfast for two, a resort credit at most properties, an upgrade on arrival when available, and early check in or late check out.

The right room.

I know which categories are worth it and which to skip, and I flag your honeymoon to the hotel team before you arrive.

The right island for you two.

I'll be honest about which island fits your style, because a quiet couple and an adventure couple should not end up at the same resort.

Vetted experiences.

Sunset sails, snorkel trips, private guides and helicopter tours from people I trust, instead of some random tour company you found online.

One person to text.

If anything comes up before or during your trip, you have me.

The process

How Planning Your Hawaii Honeymoon With Me Works

01

Tell me about your dream trip.

Send me your dates, who's traveling and what you're celebrating (or just the vibe you want, if you're still deciding where to stay). The form at the bottom of this page comes straight to me.

02

We pick your plan.

Tell me if you'd like the full itinerary or just the hotel. For full planning, you sign on and I get to work on the research, planning and coordination.

03

I send your drafted itinerary.

Within 2 weeks of signing on, you'll have a drafted day-by-day itinerary with the islands, resorts and rooms I'd book, your flights and transfers, vetted tours and my restaurant picks. We fine-tune it together until it's perfect.

04

I book it and VIP you before you land.

I send you a secure card authorization and lock in your room. You pay the hotel directly, so you keep your credit card points. Then I'm your direct line to the hotel team, sharing your celebration, your preferences and your arrival time.

Where I've stayed

The Hawaii Resorts I Know Best (and What I Tell My Honeymoon Clients)

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

Where we got married

This is the resort I know better than any other in the world. We toured hotels all over the Big Island and Maui before our wedding, and the moment we checked in here, we knew it was our place. Our whole wedding week felt like adult summer camp, and every morning Kenny and I grabbed the free Kona coffee outside DUO and walked the Wailea coastal path (sometimes jumping in to swim with the sea turtles on the way back).

For honeymooners, the adults-only Serenity Pool with its swim-up bar is the spot. My honest room advice: skip the Mountainside rooms, start at Garden View, and go Ocean View if waking up to the water matters to you. Read my 10 things to know before staying at the Four Seasons Maui and the full story of our Four Seasons Maui wedding.

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Big Island

A resort you never have to leave

I grew up going to Kona, so the Big Island has a special place in my heart. Hualalai is only about 15 minutes from the airport, and it has seven pools, including an adults-only pool with my favorite sunset view on the island. Kenny and I golfed together here (I'm not the best golfer, and we still had a blast), and my drink every day was the spicy margarita at Beach Tree, served in a pineapple. Read everything you need to know about Four Seasons Hualalai.

More Maui Honeymoon Favorites

Wailea and beyond

Wailea is where I send most honeymooners, because it's sunny, close to great restaurants and home to the most five-star resorts on the island. Hotel Wailea, Relais & Chateaux is a beautiful, intimate pick for couples, and the Andaz Maui is a favorite for design lovers. See my full breakdown of the best luxury resorts in Maui and my ultimate Maui travel guide.

More islands

Kauai, Lanai and Oahu

Kauai for Adventurous Couples

Hikes, beaches and waterfalls

Kauai is one of my favorite islands in the world (it reminds me so much of Bali). If you two love hiking, beaches and waterfalls, this is your island. Do the morning Na Pali Coast sail: we had calm water, dolphins chasing the boat, turquoise grottos and sea-side waterfalls, and I still think about it. Stay at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay on the North Shore or in sunny Poipu. Here's my ultimate Kauai travel guide.

Lanai and Oahu

Hideaways and city nights

Four Seasons Lanai is a gorgeous, quiet add-on if you want a true hideaway. Oahu is more lively than romantic, so I usually suggest a night or two in Honolulu before moving somewhere more remote. See my ultimate Hawaii honeymoon guide for every island.

Insider tips

My Insider Tips for a Hawaii Honeymoon

Pick one or two islands.

Every island hop costs you half a day, so I give Maui at least four nights when it's one leg of a trip.

Go in shoulder season.

April through early June and September through early November bring great weather and better rates.

Tell the hotel it's your honeymoon.

When you book with me, I make sure they know before you arrive.

Skip the Mountainside rooms.

At the Four Seasons Maui, start at Garden View, and go Ocean View if waking up to the water matters to you.

Book a sunset sail.

The views really are better from the water.

Walk the Wailea coastal path in the morning.

Grab the free Kona coffee outside DUO first. Kenny and I did it every morning, sometimes jumping in to swim with the sea turtles on the way back.

Do the morning Na Pali Coast sail on Kauai.

We had calm water, dolphins chasing the boat, turquoise grottos and sea-side waterfalls.

Check on West Maui first.

Lahaina is still rebuilding, so I confirm current conditions for every client and ask that you travel with respect for a community in recovery.

What My Honeymoon Clients Say

“It was literally the best honeymoon we could have imagined!! Every single hotel was amazing - the service, the food, the views, the people - all perfection! Every single restaurant you recommended was amazing and right up our alley. AND the transfers could not have been more flawless! Seriously not having to think/coordinate anyone picking up us, getting us through the airport, and taking us to each hotel was a game changer and made it feel like such a treat of a vacation!! Cannot thank you enough for making this our dream honeymoon! The boat day in Santorini and the cooking class in Paros were definitely some highlights but everything was fabulous!”

Questions

Hawaii Honeymoon Travel Advisor FAQs

Which Hawaiian island is best for a honeymoon?

For most honeymooners I recommend Maui, based in Wailea. It has the best concentration of luxury resorts on the islands plus plenty of adventure close by (the Road to Hana, snorkel trips and whale watching in season). Kauai is my pick for adventurous couples who want hikes, waterfalls and the Na Pali Coast, and the Big Island is perfect if you want a resort you never have to leave. Oahu is more lively than romantic, so I usually suggest it for a night or two before heading somewhere quieter.

Do you plan full Hawaii honeymoon itineraries?

Yes! I can plan the whole honeymoon: the right island (or two), inter-island flights, transfers, vetted experiences like sunset sails and snorkel trips, dinner reservations and a detailed day-by-day itinerary. If you only need the hotel, I can book that with VIP perks too.

How many islands should we do on a Hawaii honeymoon?

One or two. If Maui is one leg of a two-island trip, I'd give it at least four nights. Every island hop costs you half a day, and on a honeymoon you want to unpack and stay a while.

When is the best time to honeymoon in Hawaii?

My favorite windows are April through early June and September through early November. You get beautiful weather, thinner crowds and better rates than the holidays and peak summer.

Does it cost more to book a Hawaii honeymoon with a travel advisor?

No. Hotel bookings with me are complimentary, with no fee and no markup. You pay the hotel directly, keep your credit card points and get perks like daily breakfast, a resort credit at most properties and an upgrade when one is available. Full itinerary planning is available for a planning fee. Inquire for details.

Can you add honeymoon perks to a Hawaii resort we already booked?

In many cases, yes! If you booked directly with the hotel, send me your confirmation number and I'll see whether we can move it over so your perks apply.

How do I find a Hawaii honeymoon travel advisor?

Look for an advisor who has actually stayed at the resorts, knows which rooms are worth it, and is part of the hotel programs that add VIP perks to your booking. That's me! Send me your dates using the form on this page and I'll get started.
