The Best Brunch in Barcelona: Spotlight on MILK
The best brunch in Barcelona? Look no further. When MILK’s owners, Irish ex-pats Paul & Rebecca, first thought up MILK’s concept in 2005, no one in Barcelona did brunch. The boozy tradition, which has become somewhat of a weekend religion to Americans, was unheard of throughout Europe, where patrons were much more likely to grab a shot of espresso and some cold cuts rather than delicious eggs benedict or a big breakfast burger (both popular mainstays on Milk’s brunch menu). Seizing the opportunity, Paul & Rebecca created a cool Gothic Quarter parlor where you could drink delicious cocktails by night followed by a recovery brunch the next day. And there’s been a line out the door ever since.
MILK was designed, as the owners put it, “like a millionaire’s drawing room”, and I can’t think of a more perfect description. Think: ornate gilded mirrors, plush sofas, antique chandeliers, and vibrant wallpaper creating a warm + cozy atmosphere that will have you wanting to stay there all day!
And if you do find yourself wanting to be there all day, definitely check out their delicious dinner & cocktails. We had the best sangria of our trip at Milk!
