5 of The Best Private Villas in Canggu for Groups

Canggu is a charming little hipster town on the southwestern coast of Bali that has blown up in the past few years, and today is easily one of Bali’s hottest tourist (and expat) destinations. What used to be a hidden gem surfer town has turned into Bali’s capital of cool – a thriving town of insta-worthy cafes, dreamy sunset bars, a trendy restaurant scene, the best shopping in Bali, and a hipster, alternative surfer culture. With so many things to do, the beach nearby, and awesome villas to stay in, Canggu is a must-see on any trip to Bali.

Here are some of my favorite Canggu holiday villas to look into for your trip to Bali!

1. Villa Melissa, 5 Bedrooms

Villa Melissa

If you’re traveling with a big group to Bali and looking for the ultimate place to stay – Villa Melissa is IT. We stayed here this Spring with a group of friends visiting us in Bali and absolutely LOVED it. It was everyone’s highlight of the trip. With 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, a to-die-for beachfront location, and a double-layered infinity pool, Villa Melissa is the epitome of luxe. 3 of its 5 luxurious en-suite bedrooms overlook the ocean, and the whole villa is decorated in a blend of contemporary and antique Balinese furniture, making you feel at home and on a luxury vacation all at once.

2. Villa The Sanctuary, 10 Bedrooms

Tucked away in a quiet area of Canggu (but close enough to the action at Echo Beach), this beautiful 10 bedroom property features dreamy tropical surroundings, spacious suite-style bedrooms, and a big 35 meter long infinity swimming pool in the center of the property (the master bedroom even has it’s own separate private pool and garden!). This would be a perfect venue to host a destination wedding in Bali, or group retreat. There’s also a private spa and fully equipped gym on-site, as well as a full staff to take care of all of your group’s needs.

Around the villa, you’ll find quintessential-Balinese rice terraces and see local farmers working on their fields. The Tanah Lot Temple is nearby, as is the Greg Norman 18- hole Championship Golf Course. Echo Beach is close with some great waves for surf enthusiasts and great seafood BBQ restaurant, as is Finns Beach Club. There is a car and driver included in the rate of the villa, so getting to any of these fabulous tourist icons can be arranged by your villa manager.

3. Arnalaya Beach House, 5 Bedrooms

With a private chef, beachfront location, a drop-dead-gorgeous infinity pool right on the ocean, and 5 spacious bedrooms, it’s hard to beat Arnalaya Beach House for a group villa in Bali. This villa has modern, contemporary interiors and sits on 4500 square meters of oceanfront land. It’s also located right near convenient stores and restaurants, and is within walking distance to Canggu’s most popular street – Batu Bolong. If you don’t feel like leaving the villa, just sit back and relax, as it comes with a professional team of 16 in house villa staff to take care of your every need. Does it get any better for a group visiting Bali??

4. Villa Taman Ahimsa, 7 Bedrooms

This 5-star luxury villa is really more like its own resort in Canggu. Located nearby Echo Beach on its own stretch of beautiful sea, Villa Taman Ahimsa is an excellent choice for a group looking for a beachfront villa with a dreamy pool, tropical surroundings, and a full staff, including a highly trained in-house chef who will whip up wholesome and organic meals for your group. The villa also has yoga facilities, king-sized poolside day beds, and 7 luxurious bedroom suites.

This is a great choice for a group retreat villa, family vacation, hens party in Bali, wedding location, or just a fun group getaway to Canggu.

5. Villa Cemagi, 5 Bedrooms

The super elegant and chic Villa Cemagi just outside of Canggu is an amazing choice for a group looking for where to stay in Bali. This villa is all about modern, sophisticated luxury, and getting pampered on your trip to Bali. With 2 swimming pools, an oceanfront location, and several cozy sitting areas where guests can sit, relax or enjoy a meal right out in the gardens, it’s hard to beat Villa Cemagi.

A short walk from the villa takes you to the beautiful shores of the beach where you can surf, watch the sunset, or  relax. There are local cafes and bars minutes away from the villa and the bustling, popular areas of Seminyak and Canggu are right within your reach.
