The Best All-Inclusive Resorts for a Honeymoon

I get asked about the best all-inclusives for honeymoons a ton. After all, honeymooners everywhere are desperately craving an all-inclusive vacation right now. I think we can all agree that the feeling of not having to worry about your wallet at all on vacation, and really getting to relax after all the stress of wedding planning, is priceless.

And while I don’t think all-inclusives are the ONLY way to go for an amazing honeymoon, I’m here to help you guys sort through the noise and find the absolute best honeymoon hotels that are all-inclusive in the Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas and beyond.

The best all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean & Bahamas

Little Palm Island, Florida Keys

If you’re looking for the best honeymoon destinations in the USA, the exclusive, recently re-opened all-inclusive Little Palm Island may just be the best.  It’s located about one hour by air from Miami and Key West. Far from crowds and ultra-secluded, it’s an island only accessible by boat. When you arrive to the tropical island, you’re handed a welcome cocktail and a motor yacht transfers you from the check-in building on Torch Key to Little Palm Island. Crushed seashell-laden paths lead to individual oceanfront villas with private sundecks, outdoor showers, secluded hot tubs, and panoramic views of the ocean. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in The Dining Room, a fine-dining eatery (and the only restaurant) on the property.

Cayo Espanto Private Island, Belize

If you’re looking for a five-star, unbeatable private island experience in the Caribbean, look no further than Cayo Espanto. Known as being one of the top places to go in the Caribbean for a luxury honeymoon, this private island is also a vacation favorite of Brad Pitt’s. Each of the only seven villas on the island comes with an infinity pool, a private dock, an outdoor shower, and a hammock. Talk about #honeymoongoals.

Sandals South Coast, Jamaica

If you’re looking for the dreamiest honeymoon overwater bungalow without the Maldives or Bora Bora price tag, this is it. This laid-back all-inclusive Sandals resort in a less crowded area of Jamaica boasts a two-mile stretch of beach, and all of the activities and entertainment guests familiar with the Sandals brand would expect.  This resort has a romantic, quiet vibe for a Sandals with just the right amount of poolside fun. But even if you stay on the ‘mainland’ of the resort, this is a dreamy honeymoon option. All accommodations feature patios or balconies that overlook a white sand beach, and all-inclusive 5-star dining!

Sandals Royal Caribbean, Jamaica

Another option for an overwater bungalow in the Caribbean? Yep. You can get the Maldives experience without the price tag by heading to Sandals Royal Caribbean for your honeymoon, as well, where there are 5 dreamy overwater bungalows with floating decks and personal hammocks, hot tubs, infinity pools, and private water taxis that whisk you to and from the main resort on your own time. If a room at this resort happens to be available your dates, book it! These rooms are often sold out.

Excellence Oyster Bay Jamaica

You guys, we had SO much fun at this resort, I hiiighly recommend it! Aside from its picture-perfect location and gorgeous modern colonial architecture, one of the very first things I couldn’t help but notice about the resort was just how happy everyone was. Not only the staff, (who of course beamed happiness and a dont-worry-be-happy attitude in true Excellence – and Jamaica – fashion), but the vacationers!!! Everyone at the resort was just radiating vacation. They were all smiles, drinks in hand, ready to take part in the upbeat poolside activities (like pool olympics, aqua aerobics, or a dance-off), and mingling with other happy vacationers. People were a little sunburnt, a little tipsy, and a LOT of happy.

Excellence El Carmen, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Excellence Group’s newest contemporary, chic adults-only all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana,  El Carmen boasts 22 pools, super-spacious suites, and gorgeous resort facilities everywhere you look. It never feels crowded, with tons of spacious, open areas (my favorite area to hang out in was the skybar, this gorgeous area overlooking the beach and pool where no one ever was!) And the highlight of the resort is absolutely the rooms, which are your own private honeymoon oasis. Highly recommend any of the room categories with a private pool!

Fowl Cay Resort, Bahamas

If a chic, ultra-exclusive 50-acre private island resort in the Bahamas sounds like your paradise, this hotel will be your favorite honeymoon option. Following a boat ride from the airport, you’ll have access to three private beaches, complimentary water activities like kayaks and snorkeling gear, and personal boats available for daily excursions. The price of this private island reflects the exclusivity, but it’s definitely worth checking out if budget is no object.

The best all inclusive resorts in Mexico for a honeymoon

The best all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed in in Mexico are by Excellence.

Beloved by Excellence

And if a quiet, exclusive, more relaxed adults only romantic honeymoon experience is what you’re after – Beloved is Excellence Group’s intimate all-inclusive boutique luxury resort of 109 rooms , four a la carte restaurants, a stunning white-sand beach, an incredible spa and three gorgeous pools.

Finest Resort

While Finest by Excellence is not adults only, it’s a beautiful all-inclusive resort in Mexico that would be perfect for a honeymoon or special trip! Especially there’s an exclusive VIP section of Finest – called Excellence Club – that is adults-only, and is a major draw for honeymooners, young romances, anniversaries and weddings. I spent my week staying in the Excellence Club, where I got to experience both Excellence Club’s Swim-up Suite, and their two-story rooftop terrace suite with a plunge pool.  I can’t decide which I preferred, since they were two of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever experienced! Both were stunning, spacious, and featured modern, clean decor and architecture that I just loved.

The best luxury resorts that are all-inclusive in the world

If you want the best of the best in terms of all inclusive resorts, it’s the Maldives. The price tag of a Maldives honeymoon is definitely steep, especially if you’re from the US – and it’s a lot tougher to get to than all-inclusive options in the Caribbean or Mexico.

Kandolhu, Maldives

Kandolhu Maldives is a great choice for an all-inclusive honeymoon in the Maldives. At just 30 villas, this island really feels like your very own private island and it is so dreamy. The villas are ultra-modern, and even come with a GoPro that you can use during your stay! The resort offers an all-inclusive (including alcohol) package called “Ultimate Inclusions” which I definitely recommend doing. There’s a huuuuge wine fridge in your room, liquor bottles, and delicious cocktails at the main bar available all day and night (order the coral reef colada!! SO good!). Food-wise, Kandolhu is home to my favorite restaurant in all of the Maldives- Ata Roa – their taco bar! It’s only open at lunch but you should go every day of your trip! It is so, so good. Order the lamb rump tacos, a ceviche, and the churros. And tell the chef I say hi!!!!

Kandolhu is adults-only and is perfect for couples of all ages looking for a romantic getaway. It’s quiet, and feels like your own little island, but it’s also very fun.  You can meet other people at meals, if you choose to, or completely keep to yourselves. It’s also great for those who love to snorkel – one of our favorite things about Kandolhu was their house reef. Circling the island is a huge reef home to many tropical fish, turtles, sharks and rays. Definitely go snorkeling or diving on this island! It is so gorgeous.

Tadrai Island Resort, Fiji

This chic, adults-only boutique property is managed by Hilton and offers all-inclusive, personalized service. Your all-inclusive rate includes memorable meals and delicious beverages at the stylish restaurant and bar. Villas are well-equipped with minibars, iPads, and plunge pools, plus have stunning ocean views. There are a number of complimentary activities such as kayaking, island excursions, hiking, fishing, snorkeling, sailing, or you can simply enjoy the to-die-for beach.

Six Senses Laamu, Maldives

Six Senses Laamu is where Kenny and I are headed on our honeymoon! We’ve been once before and you can read about our deciding where to honeymoon on this blog post here! At Six Senses Maldives, you can do it all, and nothing at the same time. It’s the perfect place to strike the healthy vacation balance between the two. Your bike to breakfast and morning paddle board or surf session can balance out that insane breakfast buffet.  You can try a new yoga class while taking in views from the pavilion that are sunset-lounge-worthy, or dive into your new novel before diving into the sparkling turquoise sea. Your afternoon snorkels and manta ray dives are balanced with sunset champagne & canapes. You can enjoy the privacy of your overwater bungalow or walk over to get a pizza made in paradise and 2 for 1 margaritas at Sip Sip.  You can even get dropped off at a completely private sandbank for the day, complete with a set up umbrella, beach chairs, and cooler. A vacation at Six Senses is truly a choose-your-own adventure, and at the end of each fun-or-relaxation-filled day, you’ll melt into your mattress blissful, content, and maybe just a little bit sunburned.

Although this is my favorite resort in the Maldives, their all-inclusive options do NOT include alcohol – I don’t think that’s a dealbreaker, though. In my opinion, the drinks are SO much better and higher quality when alcohol isn’t included, so that’s a big plus. I recommend you set aside some extra money for alcohol and try not to think about it during your stay!

Frequently asked questions about honeymooning at an all-inclusive resort

Is everything really included at an all-inclusive?

It depends on your resort. For example, some of the Maldives resorts I mentioned are all-inclusive food, but that doesn’t include alcohol. Look into your resort carefully and see if there are any resort fees, taxes, etc. not listed on the labeled price tag. Also consider transportation! How much does it cost to get from the airport to your resort? For the Maldives, you also need to consider the cost of the sea plane to get to the resort (except for Gili Lankanfushi, which is awesomely accessible via boat from the main airport!).

What are the best all inclusives in Hawaii?
I get this question a lot and there are no all inclusive resorts (that I know of) in Hawaii! It’s not a thing. Check out my Ultimate Hawaii Honeymoon Guide for all my hawaii honeymooning recommendations. If you’re dead set on honeymooning at an all-inclusive resort, I’d recommend looking elsewhere besides Hawaii.
