The 5 Best Luxury Villas to Rent in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Summer or winter, renting a luxury mountain house in Jackson Hole, Wyoming is one of the very best luxury travel adventures you can have in the United States. In the winter, you’ll find a snow-laced winter wonderland of snow skiing, snowmobiling, and ice-skating, while Summer in Jackson Hole features mountain adventures like whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, golfing and horseback riding.

While there are many resorts in Jackson Hole, those who have been coming here for years know that there’s only one way to truly experience this upscale mountain town – and that’s in a luxury villa. You can search luxury houses available for your dates here.

After all, why would you settle for just one luxury hotel room when you can have the entire estate? The Clear Creek Group‘s beautiful selection of luxury homes offers the benefits of luxury lodging accommodations with the privacy and convenience of a villa. Their site features 65 distinctive vacation homes, ranging from one-bedroom cabins to seven-bedroom estates all set in the stunning, natural beauty of Jackson Hole.

The best part? The individualized travel experience you can create when you rent your own vacation home. Many houses that you can rent for the week or the weekend will have you looking out onto the gorgeous towering mountain views of the Teton Range that stretch over 40 miles across Jackson Hole (and include eight mountains over 12,000 feet).

You can use your villa as a home base to take your group of friends or the whole family skiing, hiking, or to the world-famous Yellowstone National Park – only 90 minutes away, or tack on another 45-minute drive to see Old Faithful. You can go fly fishing in the pristine Snake River, or head out on a white-water-rafting adventure. If you’re looking for some serious, fast-paced family fun in Jackson Hole, you can try the Alpine Slide, where you slide down 2,500 feet of Snow King Mountain in a bobsled, or, for a less thrilling, but just as beautiful, view, you can head to the the Bridger Gondola, which takes tram riders from the Teton Village to heights of 10,000 feet overlooking the mountains. Golf enthusiasts will love Jackson Hole’s proximity to award-winning golf courses, and the snowbirds will flock to the picture-perfect ski in/ski out villas sprinkled on Jackson Hole’s mountainside.

There is a vacation for everyone in Jackson Hole, and these are some of my favorite luxury villa home bases you can book to make your (and your family’s) stay the very best.

1. Elk Refuge House

Located three miles outside of Jackson, on a windy country road, is Elk Refuge, a five-bedroom beauty set on the grounds of the National Elk Refuge, with views of wild elks running by. It is a big, open house, built all on one level, and its elegant simplicity is part of its unique charm.  My favorite part is the gorgeous views of the huge, jagged Tetons in the distance, visible from the giant windows in the great room. The exterior simplicity of Elk Refuge is deceptive – for inside, all is richness and elegant design.

The great room, in the center of the house, features long, plush leather couches that look out to the breath-taking panorama outside and huge peeled tree trunks support the peaked ceiling.

There are 6 bedrooms, each with their own beautiful mountain charm, and the wide decks function as a second great room for family gatherings in good weather. It’s here you’ll find beautiful Adirondack chairs and a hot tub big enough for a crowd – all with vast and heavenly views, day or night.

2. Four Pines 6

Four Pines 6 is a villa popular with fans of contemporary decor, and also with multiple families traveling together with their kids. For parents, three of this home’s five bedrooms have comfortable, spacious king-size beds. For the kids, there’s a bunk room with four twin-size beds and another bedroom with two twin beds. The two kid-friendly rooms are connected by a wet bar and that area of the house can easily be closed off from the rest of the house. This area even has its own entrance by the garage.

3. Royal Wulff Lodge & Grizzly Wulff Lodge

This private, stately lodge is nestled at the banks of the Snake River.  It features unparalleled privacy and nature immersion. The house is tucked in a beautiful private residential development, and is an entire ecosystem in itself, bordering the Snake River and encompassing a stocked private pond (promising phenomenal fishing for the fam!).  The gracious entrance creates a beautiful artistic atmosphere and a monumental bronze sculpture of an American Indian, standing out front, greets you, setting a wonderfully meditative tone throughout the whole house, with its beamed ceilings and art-filled walls. Guests also arrive to the house via a grand portico and colonnade, framed by tree trunks and a pair of gorgeous river-rock reflecting pools. The entire experience of this lodge is beautiful, and, so, so elegant.

Inside, there’s a great room of massive beams, custom ironwork, and a gorgeous open-concept living area. A pair of ivory couches and a marble coffee table live atop a parquet hide rug, while a long ikat daybed and hide ottoman face the stone fireplace. Bronzes and taxidermy accent the soaring space with a uniquely Jackson Hole charm. The dining area features a stunning chandelier, and sets a fairy tale scene. The bedrooms also do not disappoint with their custom details, private balconies, en-suite jacuzzi tubs, and wraparound porches.

There are four bedrooms, but there’s also the guest house which you can rent out separately if your group is bigger (Grizzly Wulff Lodge). For those who love to host and entertain, the media loft offers a large flat-screen TV and a trio of sofas, and the rec room boasts a pool table, bar with saddle stools, game table, high-top with stools, antler armchairs and four bunk beds. To accommodate those who need to get some work done on their vacation, the elegant main level office features a fireplace, leather armchairs, an antique desk and crocodile desk chair, and stained glass skylights.

4. Lake Vista

This five-bedroom, 8-bath beauty lies within walking distance of Teton Village and only a mile away from the southern entrance of Grand Teton National Park, making it the ideal launch pad for natural and cultural immersion to Jackson Hole.

Jackson, a magical town ringed in restaurants, shops and art galleries, is a short drive away, as is Wilson, a hamlet with a country store, beloved bar and eatery. Whether fly fishing or horseback riding, mountain biking or backcountry skiing, the Lodge allows you to choose your own adventure.

The Lake Vista property boasts a gorgeous truss cathedral ceiling, and its great room sets a stately tone with its two-stories, circular chandelier and glass elevator. On the great wall opposite the fireplace, nine monitors combine to create a massive cinema screen or multiple simultaneous screenings. Built-in speakers above the mantle make for complete surround-sound immersion.

Sharing a double-sided fireplace with the great room, the dining room comfortably seats eight in upholstered chairs around a beautiful raw-edge timber table. The open kitchen—a gourmet showstopper—has an island and seating for five at French bistro stools. A wall of windows lets light flood in, and echoing the rest of the schema, rock and barnwood line the walls and cabinets, making for a stunning experience throughout the home.

5. Philips Ridge

This extremely private Wilson sanctuary offers 56 acres to explore. Phillips Ridge sits high atop a rocky ridge overlooking Jackson Hole. Below, the wide valley rolls away for miles upon miles.

A long driveway, bordered by streams and shadowy forest, winds its way up to the house, a magnificent Western lodge made of wood, solid stone and ethereal glass. Palatial, sumptuous, and filled with splendid works of art, Phillips Ridge begins with a two-story, light-filled entryway. Thick log walls and tree trunk supports contrast with fine antiques and soft, rich fabrics. The living and dining areas are divided by a massive two-sided stone fireplace and illuminated by a 40-foot-high wall of windows.

The kitchen is fit for a professional chef, and each of its five private bedrooms is fit for royalty, each with own stone fireplace, King bed, oversized soaking tub, and hand-crafted cast iron and glass doors, and every window showing off an extraordinary panorama of forest, mountains and sky.
