Staying in Camaya Bali – Bali’s most instagram famous AirBnB Glamping Experience in Selat

Tucked away in the mountains of East Bali are a few bamboo dream houses where the wifi is weak, the views are spectacular, and the remote airbnb glamping experience is one of the most unique ways to spend a few nights in Bali, or anywhere in the world.

Camaya has quickly become one of the most famous Bali hotels on Instagram, and on Airbnb in Bali, so of course I had to check it out for myself and give you guys my honest review of Camaya Bali!

Camaya Bali is set among lush green rice terraces, and features bamboo houses that are absolutely dreamy at every corner. Most are 1 to 2 bedrooms, with a common area, and feature stunning hammocks overlooking the rice fields and a gorgeous outdoor private hot tub. There’s also a restaurant on property (that had delicious nasi and mie gorgeng!). It’s a serene ultra-instagrammable Bali dream.

While Camaya Bali is the perfect place to relax with a loved one or some friends for a night or two, I have to be honest that after more than 1 or 2 days you might feel a little TOO remote. We had a great time here with another couple, but I definitely wish I had brought more games and entertainment and definitely more wine (hah!) since you are OUT there and there is nowhere to go grocery shopping nearby. While it was a very unique experience, it’s not necessarily a luxury experience. The accommodations are lovely, and so unique, but they are pretty “pop-up luxury”, made from simple bamboo and open walls.

Although it was one of the most unique and remote experiences I’ve had in Bali, and definitely made for some stunning views and photos, I have to say if you are only in Bali for a week or so, it is far to travel (a few hours each way) to get to Camaya and I prefer staying in luxury hotels in Bali ( you can read about my favorites here in my Best Bali Hotels blog post  or all of my favorite Bali honeymoon hotels here).

But that being said, I’m glad we did it!! It’s a fun one-time experience.

If you are planning on going to Camaya, I definitely recommend packing games, snacks, wine, etc to keep you entertained! It rained a lot while we were there (we were there at the end of Bali rainy season) so although it was stunningly beautiful, there wasn’t much to do while it stormed.
