Attending the The Points Guy TPG Awards in New York City

I just got back from a whirlwind of a week in New York City attending the first inaugural TPG Awards – a celebration of all things luxury travel, credit cards, and hotel loyalty programs put on by the one and only The Points Guy.  It was an incredible event – full of all the GLAM. and I had a blast. I’ve been getting a ton of questions about what I wore to the event, where I stayed, and all the details, so I figured I’d write a quick post!

What I wore:

This Jay Godfrey Cameo dress

This dress WAS AMAZING!!!! The perfect mix between classic, trendy, and a total showstopper. I looved the back of it. If you’re wondering what to wear to a black tie or black tie optional party this season, it is THE perfect holiday party dress, formal wedding dress, or any black tie gala dress. Jay Godfrey has long been a favorite designer of mine (check out ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL Jay dresses here), so it was an absolute pleasure to wear the line for the TPG awards.

This Majorelle faux fur coat

This coat is so reasonable for a faux fur and will be your favorite purchase this winter – it is DEFINITELY mine!! It’s high-quality and suuuper soft (so much that I barely wanted to take it off) and kept me so warm in the freezing cold New York City winter weather. But I can also imagine it being perfect for cozying up to the fireplace in Tahoe or Aspen, or just wearing on a fun night out in San Francisco or LA.

These beautiful Badgley Mischka heels

My favorite brand of dress shoes!

Where we stayed:

The Conrad New York

Located right next to the W0rld Trade Center in a super-chic area of South Manhattan, I absolutely LOVED this hotel, and think it’s the perfect place to stay for a weekend in New York City. They have a beautiful rooftop called Loopy Doopy (where all my pics are from) that during the summer is insta-famous for its super-cute popsicle cocktails. I highly recommend The Conrad for any trip to NYC (did I mention there’s a Shake Shack around the corner? HUGE WIN)

Who was there?

A whole who’s who of luxury travel, from airlines and credit card companies, to the best travel influencers, to presenters and speakers like Girl With No Job, and even Nobel Peace Prize Winner Leyma Gbowee and CAPTAIN SULLY- an absolute hero who miraculously landed a plane full of passengers in the Hudson River. There was an INCREDIBLE musical performance by Bebe Rexha, and a fabulous after party with multiple DJ’s. The champagne was flowing and everyone was in great spirits talking the best in travel, and getting excited for each nominee and category.

What were the awards about?

The TPG Awards honor excellence in luxury travel, loyalty programs, and credit cards. Most were readers choice (all credit card awards), with the airline awards being TPG editors’ choice. Many of my favorites were nominated (like my American Express Platinum, and Chase Sapphire), and I was so excited that my favorite hotel loyalty chain Marriott/SPG/Ritz-Carlton won an award.

  • BEST PREMIUM CARD (Chase Sapphire Reserved), BEST MID-TIER CARD (Chase Sapphire Preferred, which I highly recommend checking out if you’re looking for a travel credit card) , BEST NO-FEE CARD (Chase Freedom Unlimited), BEST CARD PERK (Chase Sapphire Reserved), BEST NEW/REFRESHED CARD (Hilton Honors), BEST BUSINESS CARD (American Express Business), BEST AIRLINE COBRANDED CARD (Delta Skymiles), BEST HOTEL COBRANDED CARD (Hilton Amex Aspire), BEST US AIRLINE LOYALTY PROGRAM (Delta Skymiles), BEST HOTEL LOYALTY PROGRAM (Marriott/SPG/Ritz-Carlton), BEST AIRLINE PROMOTION, BEST HOTEL PROMOTION, BEST CREDIT CARD PROMOTION, BEST DOMESTIC ECONOMY (Jetblue Airways), BEST DOMESTIC BUSINESS (Jetblue Mint),  BEST INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS (QATAR airways QSuite), BEST INTERNATIONAL FIRST (Emirates Airlines First Class)

Some fun behind-the-scenes pics from the epic night!

Prom posing with the legend himself, The Points Guy!

After party G+Ts at NYC speakeasy Bathtub Gin with Kiersten from The Blonde Abroad

All in all, it was a fabulous event, and The Points Guy team killed it. I can’t wait until next year!
