A weekend in Uluwatu at Hidden Hills Villas Bali

A weekend in Uluwatu at Hidden Hills Villas Bali

There’s no shortage of beautiful places to stay in Bali, but some go above and beyond when it comes to truly creating an island home for you on your vacation. Hidden Hills Villas is an Uluwatu oasis combining traditional and modern styles into one luxurious hillside retreat… located just close enough to the Uluwatu beaches (about a 5-10 minute scooter ride or drive), but tucked away in the hills.

At Hidden Hills Villas, each villa is designed intricately, beautifully, and individually. So you could be staying in a villa themed Santorini, or Bali, or Marrakesh.  Beatrice, the owner and a lover of global cultures and art, has hand designed each of these villas with design elements from all over the globe, with a vision of “Bringing the World Together in Bali” and has spared little expense in making the six villas’ designs what she herself would want her own home (or home away from home) to be, and it shows.

On a weekend getaway to Uluwatu from the more bustling areas of Canggu and Seminyak where I was based in Bali for a couple months, I stayed in the Sanya villa, a beautiful 2 bedroom pool villa with gorgeous hillside views, a stunning pool, and modern asian design throughout.

The entire experience was so memorable, but my favorite part of the villa was definitely the flower bath – a perfect way to start a weekend filled with relaxation.

What to do on your weekend getaway to Uluwatu:

Get to the beach!

I absolutely love the turqouoise-blue water and contrasting reefs that cover the coast of Uluwatu. The beach scene is a dream – and definitely the most beautiful part of Bali in my opinion! Head to Sundays Beach Club ( a part of Ungasan Resort) for a day pass to one of the prettiest beaches and spend your day paddleboarding, surfing, or just soaking up the sun.

Eat one of the Best Smoothie Bowls in Bali at Nalu Bowls or Kelly’s Warung

Looking for a great breakfast option or a spot to set up for the day? Nalu Bowls or Kelly’s Warung on Bingin Beach is where you’ll want to head.

Catch a stellar sunset at Single Fin

Go on any night for sunset, but if it’s a party you’re after, you’ll want to plan on Sunday Nights at Single Fin, one of the most well known parties on the entire island full of fun, sweaty dancing and awesome DJ beats.

Uluwatu is a must on any trip to Bali, but if you want some of my other recommendations, check out my post on The Ultimate Guide to Bali.
