Where to stay in Bali: The Legian

Overlooking the shores of Seminyak Beach is one of the most unique, exclusive resorts in all of Bali. The Legian Bali is Balinese laid-back luxury at its finest. With its understated elegance, emphasis on service, and traditional Balinese design, there is nowhere I would rather stay in Seminyak.

The Rooms

There are two kinds of suites at the Legian— spacious, urban suites with jaw-dropping ocean views and all the modern elegance of a penthouse, or, for those who want to step their luxe vacation up a notch even further, decadent tropical hideaway villas with lush gardens, private pools and personal butlers.

At the Hotel

The Legian has a great spa and wellness center, gym, shops, library of board games and books, gardens, and free WiFi throughout the hotel and in-room.

In suites, you’ll find an iPod dock, a minibar with free local beer and spirits, two iPods, Bose sound systems, LED flatscreen TVs, Blu-Ray players and an espresso machine.

The Pools

At the Legian, three elegant tiered infinity pools offer stunning Indian Ocean views. This was my favorite pool in all of Bali. Just look at these views! You could sit here, frozen margarita in hand, watching the sun melt over the ocean all day. Or jump across the street where there’s also another 28m-long pool at the secluded Club Lounge.

The Food

Food at the Legian is top-notch, with the breakfast buffet being my very favorite part of the day.

The open-air restaurant at the Legian overlooks the hotel’s tiered infinity pools and boasts stunning ocean views. At night, the sunset from the restaurant is to-die-for and themed dinners are held on certain nights, including the Friday night seafood barbecue! You’ll want to book ahead and request an oceanfront table. Club guests can enjoy a more traditional Indonesian menu in the intimate Club Lounge or, for an even more intimate luxury dining experience, book the Pavilion, where up to four guests can dine in private.

The sunset at the Legian

The photos speaks for themselves, but this was the best place to watch the sunset in all of Seminyak. Just dreamy.
